[HK] Looking for clubs/people near Tung Chung
I live in Tung Chung, so getting around is not the easiest. So I'm wondering if there are any clubs or groups out there who are playing badminton near me.
I consider myself as an advanced player and would like to train for competitive play. If anyone's interested in contacting me, please email me @ firstname.lastname@example.org (please write badminton somewhere in the subject cos I delete my spam emails )
Oh, I speak English, Cantonese and some Japanese.
Thanks and I hope I can have some fun and play some badminton soon

Hi everyone, thanks for the replies, I have been busy recently, so I havent checked this forum. I haven't even gotten a chance to play badminton either.
I found a good Cantonese site called Discuss.com.hk and if you go to the badminton section, they advertise available courts all over Hong Kong (HK Island, Kowloon and N.T.). If you want to start playing, that's a good place to start. If you can't read cantonese, just ask someone to help you.
I found a club called 翔風羽毛球會 (Swift Badminton Association) who is mainly for training younger people, but has an adult group also, which is based in Tsing Yi. They also post their court availability up on Discuss.com.hk. I've played with them many many times and they're not a bad group, friendly and sincere. Perhaps it's better for lower intermediates, high beginners. Although the courts that're on Discuss.com.hk do attract players of different levels, you might get some different players every so often. They mostly play on Saturdays. Some people I've met there actually live in Tung Chung as well.
And speaking of Tung Chung, the courts available are only at private residental venues, the closest public sports hall is in Tsing Yi. That's why there's not a lot of activity here... But I heard there are a few private groups formed in Tung Chung. One of them I played with. I would recommend forming your own group if you find some people here, that way you won't have to sit around and wait.
