Congrats to Yihan for finally becoming WC; now with her AE and WC titles, all she needs is the OG to complete the set and I'm hoping she'll manage it next year. She's by far my favourite player because of her playing style and personality, and I was heartened to see that she has really improved her game at this WC (she played especially well against Pi Hongyan). I admit that I nearly got a little bit teary when she started tearing up on the podium as the national anthem was being played (and I'm not even from China!); I felt so glad at her success especially since we all know how badly she struggled last year.

She seems so adorable in the clip embedded at this link:

Can anyone please translate everything that was being said?

what's gotten into her this yr? arguably a 180 degrees turnaround from last yr...secured 2 big majors this yr and looking to clinch 1 more next yr? looks like the WC win was an emotional one for her..

Although I am Chinese, I can't hear it clearly either. It seems the interviewers asked if Yihan has any idol or anyone she likes to be. And she was reluctant to talk about that (saying "too many to remember"). Then they asked if she is studying in school (weird question) and she said no. Then the woman interviewer said "so you didn't attend the Universiad". And she kept shyly asking the interviewers to stop shooting.

It could be a good idea for BWF to get Wang Yihan to model the range of Badminton Clothing & Fashion. She is tall enough and pretty.
