again and again, WYH show us her superb fighting spirit. She will never stop untill the point said "it's over". That is the real Yihan.
for Skill, Ratchanok is better than Yihan, but for fighting spirit, there's nothing like yihan. #IMO
She is not just playing all she can, but she plays even what she could not. She broke her limit.
    Awesome

BTW does wang yihan use a panhandle grip on her FH? her racket is kinda in a strange position (open and pointing to the opponent) instead of in the classic position before hitting the ball.

my reaction to WYH's win in the Denmark Open over the weekend is:

    - incredible speed, unhuman stamina and fighting spirit overcome lack of smartness in her play.

Who is right? Someone said she used her brains and the right tactics to counter her opponent's game as the match progressed.

Btw, Boss, I tried to search for the word unhuman but it came out inhuman. Is this what you meant?

my apologies. yes i do mean inhuman.

well, if there was tactic, it was to go as fast as possible so SJH can no longer keep up.

at one point in the game, WYH was just doing smash/net/smash/net/smash/net for like 5 times, while SJH just stood there and block/lift/block/lift. eventually the block was good enough WYH couldn't get to it, wasting a bunch of energy and zero return.

It was so disappointing and maddening to watch. WYH plays with her muscles rather than her brain. The fault is on both WYH and her coach.

SJH is obviously taller and has greater reach than most WS players. Why can't WJH just adjust the height of her shots accordingly? It's a credit to WYH for holding up in such a physical game. But it is so risky and unnecessary.

Yes, congrats to WYH! I'll make no bones that she's my favourite female player primarily due to the fact that her AE match against Tine in 2009 was the first badminton match that I'd ever seriously watched (by accident, really). So, I kind of got into the game because of her, and how could I not? Combined with her style of play, on court she wears her emotions on her sleeve so readily that one can't help but root for her.

Even though I'd like to see her play, I half wish that she doesn't make the SSF this year with her win at the HK Open, if only to let the poor girl have the rest that she so clearly needs!
