I was very much introverted before entering university and played computer games all the time. Played a little basketball before I left Singapore... almost developed a decent skyhook. Also bike alot and travelled all over in Singapore when I was 13-15 years old, so much so that at one point I developed a six-pack... but at the time, I thought I got cancerous lumps or something... *sigh* the wonderful times of youth.

Anyway, played ice hockey and went on skiing parties annually during my later university years. Later learned how to swim (thanks to a persistent friend)... which is a big deal considering how late I started. Recently acquired a taste for fishing after catching a huge pike on my first trip last summer. Also made some hiking trips to the Rockies during summers.

    Nowadays, only badminton.

Hmmm let's see... when I was younger I did...

    Baseball
    Basketball
    Boxing
    Broomball
    Cycling
    Football (American)
    Football (Soccer, Indoor & Outdoor)
    Ice Hockey
    Kung-fu
    Rappelling
    Rock Climbing
    Softball
    Skateboarding
    Skiing (Downhill & Cross Country)
    Snowboarding
    Taekwondo
    Table Tennis
    Tennis
    Track & Field
    Volleyball (Beach & Indoor)

The wonderful thing about North America is that you can do a lot of different things and still lead a "normal" life. I know in many countries around the world, people just don't get the opportunities to do such a variety of things. It's certainly something I'm very grateful of to be living here.

well, here in india, the biggest sport is Cricket. yeah, cricket.

I'm crazy about this game too. However, I can't play this game well but love to watch it. India has got the cricket's living legend, Sachin Tendulkar. It's all bcoz of his charisma that all the ppl watch this game.

    sure...

like badminton, it's the game of physical fitness, technical soundness, mental toughness... pitch and climactic conditions play a huge role in cricket.

and unlike badminton, there are two versions of the game. One-day games last for 6-7 hrs and test matches last for 5 days... if the teams are balanced, then it's really gruelling 5 days for players... it's one of the deciding factors of its popularity. People feel fed-up with so loooooooong games...

Sachin Tendulkar is one of the greatest batsman of all time, on par with Sir Donald Bradman, and this alone and not his charisma, has energised Indian passion for cricket. But India is not alone. Your neighbour, Pakistan, is equally mad about cricket. Politicians in both India and Pakistan have at times tried to ride on the coat-tails of the successes of their cricketers. If you mix Indian and Pakistan cricket together, like playing against each other in India or Pakistan, the two nations will come to a standstill. This is serious business.
I am surprised that you don't play cricket. It is saying you don't eat spices. Just joking, no insinuations of any sort intended.
I used to play cricket for my school and was quite a good batsman-lowest score a duck, highest 110. It is a beautiful sport, the 5-day match is a better game than the one-day match. Those were the days.
