hi.. I have turned 16 now... I am planning to join an excellent Badminton academy in my city for the next 2-3 years...but here the coaching is for 4 hours Monday to Saturday... daily morning 6:00 am to 8:00am and evening 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Please dont tell me that it is like sort of.....hectic..or something like that ....because I have another 2 full years to hone my overall badminton skills to a high level ,after that it is difficult..as far as i am concerned IT is NOW OR NEVER.. So now..I wanted to know if there is anyone of my age who goes for 4-5 hours coaching everyday...if so.. please tell me how do you manage your sudies..when do you study everyday..for how long... My parents say that I will get extremely tired if I train for 4 hours everyday and that I wouldnt be able to study....But I am determined to take my badminton skills to a new high....So any suggestions/tips/guidance on how to manage my studies...the fatigue??????
It depends what will you be in the future? To be a professional player or just play for fun. Think it over! The answer will help you to know what you should do more. Just to do what is import to you, and go for it! And You can make a plan both for your traning and study.
If you are serious in your badminton you may want to consider a short training stint during your school holidays say in Malaysia. There is a new organization in Malaysia (KL) that provides training as well as sparring for ambitious future stars. You can also request specific coaches and if they are available that will be ideal. All their coaches are members of the national squad who are to retire soon (Wong Choong Han, Lee Wan Wah, Chan Chong Ming, Chew Choon Eng) and ex national backup players. You cannot get a better slate of top class coaches anywhere in the world and you will be coached the modern way of training and playing (with high tensions).
There are people in Indonesia as young as 13 years old who are training more than 4 hours a day. With that kind of training schedule, I would think that you still have some time to rest for an hour in the afternoon before your training. Then at night you probably have one hour to do your studies. To excel at both your studies and badminton, I would say you need to be efficient at studying cause that's where the problem is. You have to spend your weekend to do some catching up on your studies as well. It is all about planning.
