Hi all Has anybody of you ever used any of Babolat badminton strings? Currently all of my equipent comes from Yonex. However I still keep my options open. Is Babolat worth trying? Piotr
Looking on www.babolat.com they have several players using their equipment. I too am interested in the hyperbraid string. double, can you give me a better idea of the performance and durability? Another site of interest is www.bowbrand.co.uk as they have a good selection. They must actually sell strings but I have never met anyone who uses them. Is there anyone out there who has?
hey, I've used Bow brand natural gut many years ago, the feeling is great but not durable(it should be for natural gut). not much information on their site?!!
Yes, Piotr, they are definitely worth trying. I've only used the Hyperbraid once as it's hard to get here, but I was quite impressed by it.
Re: Re: Babolat strings What's the price of the babolat strings? Hyperbraid, Hyperbraid micro and natural guts. They are not easy to get even in Europe??? Babolat should do more on their badminton products. BTW Mag, do you know what happened to the badmintoncentral homepage? Thanks!
I came accros only one place in my city where I can buy these strings. The price varies between 10 to 25 USD dependending on the kind of the string. So these are definitely more expensive than Yonex at least where I live. However I will try them out next time when I string my raquet. Piotr
I've got a cheaper Babolat string on my Carlton Airblade 900 (I forget which one it is, as I won it in a drawing and it was a few years old) and I like it a lot, although it took a few hours of play to wear in (22x24lbs). It has good power (not so much as the original Carlton factory string, though), more than Ashaway MicroLegend. It has as good of feel and control as the MicroLegend (puts the Carlton factory strings to shame in that department), but much better durability. I have not tried any Yonex strings on this racquet, so I cannot compare it to BG-65, BG-80, etc..., but since I think my friend who restrings my racquets has ordered some more Babolat, I'll probably stick with the Babolat the next time I restring.
Superbraid I played with Hyperbraid and Hyperbraid Micro. I restringed to Superbraid recently. I like the Superbraid even more. Does anybody know wheather Superbraid is Hyperbraid predecessor?
The Superbraid is the older (and cheaper) of the two. I don't think the Superbraid is distributed anymore. The Superbraid was an extremely thick string at 0.75 mm, Hyperbraid is thinner but still thick at 0.72 mm, while the (in my opinion superior) Hyperbraid Micro is very thin at 0.67 mm.
Strings. I have tried many different brands of badminton strings, mainly Ashaway and Yonex ones yet I have never fully understood what differences there are if any, of having strings varying thicknesses. Can anyone explain?
