Not bad at all - makes my first attempt look foolish, actually:eek:. The straightness is actually very impressive - you obviously took some time during and afterwards to end up with a quality finish.

Straightening crosses as you tension is one of the best things you can do - if you leave them until later you end up with a racket full of "smiley faces", as my teacher calls them, and straightening these out AFTER you finish stringing leads to a huge loss of tension. I never did this until I went on my course, so you've got a head start there.

A couple of points for next time:

    1. I think there are two extra crosses at the bottom of the racket - the default pattern for badminton goes, from the bottom up, shared, shared, single, shared. There should be 22 mains and 22 crosses, the flared grommets at the bottom of the racket are there in case you need o use two main knot (as in a two-piece system).

    2. The top knot should be above the top cross, not below - always tie your knots onto an isolated main (preferably as close as possible to where the last string originated from).

Extra crosses are best placed at the throat end of the racket, as you did, as the frame is stronger here than at the nose. Crosses down here shouldn't alter playability that much either.

Please do post your second job!

i strung second racket last night, i found it in my porch it had broken strings so i thought what the heck il have another go :p god knows whos racket it is, but its old, racontor or something like that. anyways i tried the 2 peice method and it took me an hour and 45 again. :( i was sat on my bedroom floor tho, not ideal i know.
i strung it at 21lbs (ish)
i made sure to follow your tips so its only 22 x 22
and i did the knots as the a diagram showed me . i shall post a pic when i get back possibly sunday night.but i did it completely on my own and started at 9.30pm so i was happy i didnt mess up.

i need to take a pic of the machine im using talk about retro its 30 years old. but it works beautifully.
