Well not too sure how many of ya'll must have heard of this or some may not have.. I'm quite proud to say that badminton hold the record of the fastest racquet stroke in the world! Our buddies Fu Haifeng of China set the official world smash record of 332 km/h (206 mph) on June 3, 2005 and Taufik Hidayat holds the smash record of 305 km/h (189 mph) for a singles match. The fastest recorded tennis stroke is Andy Roddick’s 153 mph (246 km/h) serve; to me this is one of the reasons why badminton is a very challenging sport as its not as easy to make a hard and accurate smash compared to a tennis serve I've got Taufik's and Fu's video of his smash @ smashingmark.wordpress.com/2008/10/15/badminton-the-fastest-racquet-stroke-in-the-world/ By any chance you guys have a clearer video of Fu's record smash? Anyone knows if anyone has came close to beating the world record set by fu? Or why not tell us what's your fastest smash if you have tested your speed either by replying this post or u can comment on me blog Mine I can say should be above 200+ km/h heheh.. Well I plan to do a test soon.. ciao da mao smashingmark.wordpress.com
Closed Well, this information is old hat. Fu Haifeng's record was set during the 2005 Sudirman Cup... and the news was posted here the very same day Related threads are aplenty. Here's one example. Please search the forum before starting a new thread. Closed.
