Hi all, Am thinking of getting a pair of Asics Gel Sensei but realise they have ben around for a while now. I was wondering, have they been replaced by the Asics Gel Blast 2, and would the Blasts or even Yonex SHB100's be better for my poor old joints? Any suggestions or comments welcome. Cheers.

Yes, I had seen the Sensei 2 on some websites, but not any UK ones. When I say replaced, I meant as the new 'top of the range' shoe for the UK.

Not sure if this is the case, as you say Sensei 2 is the logical progression from the first but it does not appear on the Asics UK site even. They still have the original Sensei which looks as if it's being discontinued.

    Hmm thats odd.

In aus, the sensei 2's are available, i bought a pair for badminton. But yeah they're reasonably comfortable, and well cushioned on the heels, however they're actually heavy compared to other shoes.

In aus though we don't have much of a line up for court shoes.

I would say Gel Sensei is the top of the line, thus will be the one and only best shoe among the its indoor model. Unfortunately not in Malaysia market.

That's the confusing thing when companies are globally catering for different markets they often use different names or completely different shoes.

I get the impression that the cushioning in asics in general is quite good, which is my main concern, even if they don't quite have the performance of Yonex shoes. It's a trade off I would be willing to make. Unless Yonex impact resilience and comfort is just as good?

Thats my A Gel Sensei 2. I have them for two years and use them for voleyball also, no problem. Still available in Czech Rep. I think. Very comfortable and stable, excelent cushioning.

Well I decided to go for the Sensei and I have to say I am really pleased. Cushioning is great, way better than may old adidas stabil which were a bit like walking on two slabs of concrete.

Support seems good too, although they may not be the lightest shoes they at least seem on a par with my old adidas, so no problem for me there really.

I've ordered a pair of these too, as I'm (probably too much) worried about knees, and have heard good things all over the place about these. I'd trade a little bit for the cushioning, and can't wait to try them out.

Plus the colour is way funkier than all the white pairs I've had.

Last time I checked it runs about $100-110 usd costs and I think I know where you can get it. But might you tell me why this shoe is so good? Also do you know the difference between this shoe and its counterpart? Asics gel sensei 2

    ionoo...

I have a pair of low end asics gel (can remember the model)...the shoes feel light and got good traction....

I cant compare to other asics shoe coz I only have asic and yonex SHB-99LTD. But when I use Yonex shoe I can feel some pain in the side of the toe area. But not when I use asic.

But one thing is that I really like the asic is the design and colour.

Now can you please tell me where to get it in Houston?:D

Inside the shoe where it says phf or paf I forget, both of my feet were constantly like scratched... blisters soon came. Any of as2 owner have this problem? It wasn't my socks because I let someone else test out my shoes and they said they began feeling the same scratching pain.
