Hi all... kinda new to this whole thing... I'm looking to get a new racket and don't want to stray too far away from what I already have. I currently have an Ashaway Aerotec 800 which I understand is fairly unknown. It's very lightweight (80g I think), head-heavy and medium flex. Looking for a slightly more advanced racket now I'm improving and playing regularly for a club. I'm fairly tall with quite good upper body strength and tend to smash more than drop, so more powerful than technical. Play mainly doubles, but occasionally singles as well so would like it to be fairly good all round. Definately want it to be light but a little head heavy if possible... Price isn't a factor luckily so hope thats enough info...
Try a Yonex Armortec 900 Power, 4U, not 3U. I looks very similar to the Ashaway Aerotec 800. Or was it the 900, I've forgotten.
Thanks for reply... AT 900 p duz seem like a real "sledge-hammer" of a racket lol, don't want to sacrifice all other aspects of play though just to get an amazing smash... Is it very demanding?? What string and tension would you recommend?? Unfortunately I can't really get hold of any rackets to try out at the moment, which is why I'm relying solely on the word of others. Any ideas on where I can get a 4U?? Websites I have been on sell only 3U. Any other comments are greatly appreciated.
Since you play doubles more than singles, try AT900 Technique. You can also try Carlton, Head or Wilson, which I think should be easy to find in UK.
the 900P is weaksauce, it feels light and if you can lift more than 10lbs usually, you should be fine.
