Any techniques to increase recovery speed after a rearcourt backhand?
After a smash, one transfers body weight and goes back to base quickly, any such skills after rearcourt backhand?

    (2) btw, is it illegal to use racket to block the net area after playing a net-shot? I mean to prevent opponent to do a lift.

I think it is as long as you do not venture onto the oppositions side of the net. Someone who knows the rules like the back of their hand come to the rescue please.

when playing a rear court backhand, most weight will be on the racket foot. use this weight and push back to base. generally players will watch their backhand to make sure if it goes over (as generally its harder to get a backhand over than a forehand), so as soon as you hit/contact the shuttle, bounce back straight away.

as with the second question, it is not illegal to hold up the racket to block the net area. make sure your racket does not touch the net, otherwise it is a fault and you lose the point. secondly, if your opponent returns the shuttle and it hits your racket on their side of the court before crossing over to your side, this is also a fault and you will also lose the point. however, if it touches your racket on your side of the net and goes down on their side, its your point.

this is good as it puts off the opponent and gives them more pressure to return a more tight net shot, or to lift a high defensive shot, often leading to your smash/attack. also it gives you the opportunity to go for a net kill if the net return is high. however, over anticipation may cause the opponent to flick the shuttle flat and low back over your head, then you will be on the defensive.
