That guy's rackets aren't fake. Many people from this forum have bought from him, including me, and we all say that they are completely genuine APACS rackets.

In reply to your question, to date I have yet to see a fake clone racket (ie Fleet, Apacs, etc). The only fakes I have seen are Yonex ones. Given the higher margins of the Yonex brand that would be logical.

However, if margins on another popular brand become too much I'm sure the fakers would happily paint their rackets in whatever scheme is needed. the question is, does the GLOBAL badminton market have another Tier1 brand like Yonex?

I think people would try to make fake yonex rackets because they would make more profit than making a fake apacs racket.

I think this hologram sticker is for only recent rackets made. i got a few old ones without the hologram sticker.

making Apacs fakes won't gain profit, since the original one is quite cheap..

    Fake Apacs

Yes .. . really want to have a look on those FAKE Apacs ...

Out of the topic, Yonex seems don't have any patent on their technology and paint job. Check on their web-site, there are no TM on whatever technology they use in their badminton/tennis rackets. Are they joining OPEN SOURCE stream....?

    LOL

a local dealer claimed that apacs rackets are made up of 80% fiber glass and 20% graphite. if this is true, wonder about the fake racket's composition

May I just ask, why would anyone fake an Apacs? Don't get me wrong, they're great rackets but they're cheap already and don't have a big reputation. I just can't imagine there being any profit or any market for them.

I can believe that there can be fakes of Apacs. On Ebay, there are Yonex NS7700 for GBP22.50 (Buy-it-now price) delivered from HK to UK. So there is margin for them to work into a delivered racket for that money. I just don't believe there is sufficient global demand for APACS to be made to justify the expense.

It almost sounds as though the APACS dealers are doing a whisper campaign to say "Yes, there are fakes of our rackets *just* like Yonex because our rackets are that good!". As I said in my earlier post, I have yet to see one in the wild, not just talked about in a showroom, and I would be most interested to know if anyone saw one being offered on our favourite auction site.

    >>>>original apacs rackets come with hologram stickers.
Oh, the fakers are REALLY shaking in their boots now!!! How many people have come up with stickers, 3D holograms etc which are copied by the fakers a few weeks later. Sunrise stickers, PBSI logos anyone??!!

As Phandrew said, the sticker is not on older Apacs rackets either. I have some rackets from an Apacs dealer without the sticker.

Also, if they do fake APACS, why not fake Fleet, Ashaway, or any other of the recognised clone brands? It's just a spray job away....
