Hey all, I seem to have a little problem(okay, maybe not so little) with my badminton bag. It's a 2 compartment Apacs bag that came with the racket I bought. Now the problem is, there are these black soot or something thing... and the worse part is, all of my rackets' grip are now dirty, thanks to that stuff. Here's a photo I took of my bag. Anyone has any idea how I can PERMANENTLY and COMPLETELY get rid of that stuff?
Inside, was like that when I bought it. Seems like all the bags that came with the rackets are like this.
I believe they are dust... That's sticky... Can't be much help though but you might want to try to wash your bags and your grip. xD
Dust due to exposed near main road with heavy traffics (especially buses & lorries due to CO+soot) I thought the soot was due to worn-off grip which has turned into powder. Apply thinner to remove the stickyness. Soak it with water for 5-10mins, scrub with detergent/Dettol/soap powder should be OK.
if thats the inside of the bag it looks like its just dirty, your best bet would be to clean it out using a cloth and some water or some simple cleaning poroduct to make sur eyou get rid of the dirt and dust as well as anything sticky. i wouldnt say wash the whole bag though you just need to take the time and clean that part.
Willi@m, I doubt it's soot, I DID try soaking it and wiping it with cloth but it didn't work. But then, WHY DIDN"T I THINK OF USING ANY DETERGENT OR POWDER?! Thanks for the suggestions though, will see if it works.
No problem. The dirt can be removed easily by scrubbing with Trojan. Hahahaha. The worst tough dirt/stain hard to be removed are Mildews & Molds.
One more thing, will the black stuff(whatever it is) appear again after washing? All the racket bags I have(that came with the racket) have this particular problem.
After period of usage, stains will appear, ext & interior. You had them by post-mail or from pro shop? Pro shop usually keep their stuff organized (unless otherwise). Bags are individually packed to prevent dirt.
?Where did that come from? Didn't see anything like it... Anyway, I don't mind stains and such, so long as it doesn't make my grip (or the hands) dirty.
drifit: I doubt your stuff are being Dry Cleaned, hahahahha ~!!!! Good alternative. Let stinkiray try & let us know. Dry Clean only avail at Doby Shop.
All of your apacs bag...? Hmmmm... maybe it's something from the bag xD... (Not dust... william is right, dust is coming from heavy traffic or stationed near construction area, or you're living in the desert) and they won't have that look xD. Something like broken grip (the Polyurethane powderz xD)... Maybe the best idea is... ^ This.... (since it will probably coming back)
Ask chaos xD... That was a quote... About my experience I've faced similar problem with a broken PU grip. They're sticky and it sticked to my racket bag. But as I could guess there are some bags with PU inside. PU will easily turned into powder in some enviromental condition... Like wet and dusty (my condition). Maybe there's lot more and I'm not sure xD... Since I'm not the one looking inside the bag. But of course maintaining this bag would still stands as the best idea. Since bag was nothing but accessories.
Man oh man... that's pretty easy chaos. But I really like this bag and no, dry cleaning is not available in my area. I'll have to go 1 hour away from town to dry clean it.
After game session, the grip is wet and straight away stored & zipped out, without taking out to dry off the grip at home. Under dark & moist condition where molds likely to grow rapidly & eats into the grip with sweat, thus the PolyUrethane would break down and become powder & worn off. If lazy to take out to be dried off, just wrap around the grip with tissue or plastic bag, so wont dirty the inner compartment. Or put a charcoal inside to control humidity (Dont blame me for the mess, hahaha~!!!)
YONEX bag has more LEATHER material.. easier to clean... just use MR.MARK, mild&mold cleaner.. spray on the bag.. soak for 15 minutes.. then just wipe it. Cleans and shine!! Apacs got more NYLON-CLOTH material.. MR. Mark doesnt works.. XD
