Hello all, I'm new at this forum, and I'm starting off with a stupid question. I'm going to buy some new badminton clothing soon, but... A friend and I had a "discussion" recently. He says that when you're playing with a Yonex racket, you should wear Yonex clothing aswell. I play with Carlton rackets, but I like the Yonex clothing more. My friends thinks it's stupid to play with Carlton rackets and then wear a full Yonex outfit. So, what do you guys think? Should someone stick with his/her brand, or shouldn't he/she? Thanks.
I think your friend is just a little bit too conscious of his appearance when he plays. I don't really care what I wear when I play as long as it is comfortable. Just think about it. When your playing other people do you really notice if their outfit and racket are matching? or do you concentrate on the game itself?
i using Apacs's racket and APacs's bag....wearing Yonex shoes and clothing with Victor shirt....did i look stupid? lol...
if you are lucky enough to be sponsered then great, wear matching stuff. if like most of us you are not sponsered, i think it is a bit sad to buy all your kit from the same manufacturer, just so it matches.
I carry a yonex bag but do not own a single yonex racket. I wear yonex shoes but do not own any yonex shorts. People judge you by how you play on court and not how you look, the brand of your racket or how what shirt you wear. Wear what you are confortable with..
lol..... I think thats a pretty funny thought 'racket brand same as clothing'. I think any clothing is personal preference. I use yonex rackets and yonex bag and yonex shoes. but my clothing ranges from fila to adidas to yonex. I think its just what you're most comfortable in when you play. I know quite a few people around who go for the full yonex attire, latest shoes, racket, clothing etc. but play like ****, so whats the point of having matching gear anyway? look more stupid rather than professional.
Don't spend that extra money for the intimidation factor. If you just look at photos of.. ordinary people with full Yonex out-fits and yonex equipment, they sure do look 'pro'.. but see them move, then that's when we can 'judge' them accordingly. We often see European professional players wearing Hi-Tec clothing, but using Carlton/Babolat/etc racquets.
Haha.... Badminton is not a fashion, it a sport, though some may think otherwise. I use Yonex racquets, wears Nike shoes and soccer shorts, and Reebok X-tra dry shirts. I'm gonna buy a Yonex shirt and see what the difference is.
haha yes i can say the same i know quite a few people who do this, thing is there beginners or lower intermediate players but they are always wanting yonex yonex yonex and like they spend so much on the clothing and everything but when they play they lose and are always asking why since they think they should win since they have all the gear. i have tons of shirts from different brands, currently i use all black knight in tournaments, but when im not in a tournament ill use my black knight racquet but i dont have to wear their clothing ill wear my forza clothing or victor, yonex and all the others that i have as well. so yeah brand of clothing and racquet being the same means absoulty nothing unless your a sponsored/professional player and have to adhear to the rules in a contract. the clothing doesnt make you any better of a player doesnt give you 20% more smashing power and 5% speed increase its just the clothing that your wearing. so wear what you like and feel comfortable in.
Sports is players performance & potential, fashion is an art. Men dressed to style, while women dressed to kill. I've been 'killed' many times by watching tennis & badminton sports
I don't think the appearance is important. What you wear which make your comfortable, just carry on. I'm using yonex bag, apacs racket, fleet cloth, no brand short pant, yonex show and yonex sock. I don't feel it stupid. At least, my skill is always there.. hehe.
If a hall no LL, wearing che kai apparels would be just fine. If there is, wear bit better & smarter lor. Hahaha~
Hmm... I just thought of this too... I wear use mizuno shoes + socks + shorts. For T-shirt, I have fleet/umbro/mizuno although I like the mizunos best since they are the airiest. My wristbad is victor but use a Yonex racket... But wait, my yonex bags certainly helps me in my game... http://prstat.blogspot.com/2008/10/yonex-badminton-bag.html
haha the yonex bag technology, one of my friends he hsa some of just like the racquet covers and they came with a similay tag about the "bag technology" in the racquet covers and how it can increase your speed on court and power.
Yonex came out with 3 type sandals, designs like Nike Sandal, with Non-Marking Outsole, I hope they could perform on court (if hall operator allows) Hahahaha Sandal more secure, im afraid ur slipper might flew against opponent and hit their faces.
