    Hey guys ,
I am aware of the forehand grip but I keep having this problem with my thumb . I cant seem to grip the racquet properly cause the thumb gets in the way when i swing whip style in other words it keeps slipping . So my question is where exactly do you position the thumb for in order to proper badminton swing . Thanks :)

Before you swing, it's best to keep a relaxed grip with a somewhat straightened thumb. For a powerful forehand such as a smash, the thumb will usually curl around the racket during the swing, as you tighten your grip.

For a backhand, you need to keep the thumb straight throughout the hit, to provide support from behind.

This page from my grips guide would be a good place to start: the basic grip.
