How many courts do you have at the school? What standard do you expect? I play for exercise and am an average/intermediate player. Are you pretty relaxed about players joining?

Hi Victor,

We have 3 courts with an average of 10 to 15 players each night. Our standard is intermediate to advance and we are pretty relaxed about player joining. You are welcome to try out this Thursday.

I've played there before, regularly about 15 years ago at a decent (high intermediate/advanced) standard but stopped playing due to injury for a number of years. I went back there once last year. The standard of the players are good and the people there are generally friendly enough. They do take it very seriously though and there seems to be two distinct tiers. There are about 4-6 advanced players who only seemed to rotate and play amongst themselves and the rest of the club are intermediate level and mix up.

A couple of players in the intermediate level bunch probably take it a little too seriously in that mistakes weren't very well tolerated. Having been away from the game for so long and new to the club that was a little bit of a shock. The other players there and the organisers are quite friendly though and it seems to be quite well run.

Doesn't it depend on which night you go?

Other nights will have different groups of people so are you referring to the Thursday group?

I've been there before but pre-date you.

Wow, small world! A friend's mum first took me there when I was a teenager and it was all "uncles and aunties" there... I remember meeting a nice chap called Max and another call Francis, they weren't there when I went last year though. They wouldn't remember me anyway as I'm now an uncle too! haha... how time flies!

Can't remember which day of the week it was, think it was mid week so quite poss' Thurs, but you're right, it could have been another group.
