Hi, I'm 13 years old and I need to tell the shop what tension i want my racquet to be strung at. I'm a intermediate player, played for over 2 years. I have an AT900T and strings are BG80. Quick reply would be appreciated. Thanks!
hmmmm not useful ummmm sadly i think it will have to be a trial and error thing, id say 20-22lbs but i dont know how strong your game is. do you play for a local club or your county? but yeh id say 20-22lbs and then if you find it too easy or too hard to play with adjust accordingly as people say adjust 2 lbs at a time
In the end, I decided 21lbs, but thanks for your help. If I don't like the tension, is there any way I can loosen it without restring my racquet?
well from my experience from factory strung rackets (THEY SUCK) to put it bluntly they never have a good feel and though they say strung at like 22 -24lbs yes probably were months ago when they were made, usually like 18-20lbs . so there could be two causes for lack in power either like i said the string are dead, or they were strung at correct tension as its an expensive racket and theyre too tight for you more power= loser strings less power more control = tighter strings i would probably say 21lbs thats what all of the girls at county u17's have and what peoples racket at county n like under15's are strung at. il just see how well bg80 holds tension on dinkalots review
in his review he put it as good at holding tension but when you string a racket say at 21lbs after a few weeks it will usually drop and pound or 2 and stay there
oh i was just reading reviews on bg80 and people seem to say that it takes a good 10-15hours for the string to settle before it has settled they say it feels dead and wooden but after settling it feels responsive and powerful, but a few ppl said they strung at 20lbs and it felt horrible so they strung it at 22lbs and it felt completely different better in all aspects
Ah, but I am only 13, so 21lbs should suit me. Anyway, anything should be better then a factory strung BG65ti!
Will get racquet back friday or saturday. How long does it usually take for a racquet to be restrung......?
depends a shop will probably have and constant pull and if they know what there doing roughly 30mins but if its another type of machine maybe a bit longer, but i expect u will have to go the day after to pick it up, also depends on if they are lazy
