Question Why do most pros use towel grips?

I noticed that in lots of videos that lots of the top players use towel grips. Why is this so? Does it give them a better grip?

Do a search in the Equipments section.

Quite a common question that even I asked that question before..

Though I prefer towel grips, they feel bad once in a while because it gets hard and feels pretty bad if you dont change it for a while

a quick brush with a small metal brush will bring it back to live.

In short is is because they sweat more and towel grips are more absorbent.

    See these threads:

when applying towel grip, do you use it as an overgrip or should it be applied on the wood?

I just apply it straight onto the wood.. it's really thick. But you know what, I apply a normal PU overgrip over the towel grip, only at the bottom portion of the handle where I hold it the most.. because after one session, the grip starts to harden already because of the sweat..

Sweat issues would be obvious since they are on the court for long periods with intense rallies going on.

Another would be preventing blisters. Synthetic grips can be pretty prone to giving blisters, especially when they're new and you have that nice "grippy" feeling, its the most dangerous when it moves in your hand and "grips" to your skin.
