Yonex A3 = Yonex A30?
Could be a silly question but i was wondering if Yonex A3 = Yonex A30 as well?
As i have saw some Yonex A3 and A5 but i was wondering if it's the same as Yonex A30 and A50 as well?

well.. if the price is very different, it's most probably not the same

but then, if it's similar.. then i dunno... I'm not familiar with shuttles, i've always only used RSL Tourney 1

Nope, it's not the same. The shuttle looks good but the durability is very poor. The AS1 till AS5 are al lower quality shuttles then the AS10.

AS3? I know AS03 (which is also not the same as AS30) its made of duck feather instead of goose. durability is bad but its good for just casual game.

That's not true.
The single digit makes are the practice shuttles for the double-digit makes.
For example, the AS 1 is the practice shuttle for the AS 10.
Similarly, the AS 3 is the practice shuttle for the AS 30.
Likewise, the AS 5 is the practice shuttle for the AS 50 (the grade approved for international tournaments)
In fact, the AS 5 is costlier than the AS 30

The practice series: AS 1, AS 2, AS 3, AS 4, AS 5
Tourney equivalent: AS 10, AS 20, AS 30, AS 40, AS 50
By the way, AS stands for Aerosensa.

Never seen the single digit shuttles from Yonex over here.. What are the "reason" to have a "practice" version of the shuttle?? I have never heard anyone use AS10 for tournament?? Seems very strange.. sounds like an AS-5 would be better for tournament use than an AS-10....
Maybe it is just a "trick" to be able to market adjust price in MAS without affecting overall price-points for the AS-xx line ??

I would assume the second-grade goes out as the single digit. For instance, when making the AS 50, anything less than perfect would go out as AS 5

The point is that if there's a tourney ahead (and they're using AS 50), you could practice with the AS 5 to save on costs. In fact, the feel and flight pattern are almost the same.
And you're right... the AS 5 is a far better shuttle than the AS 10 (which is just about the worst Yonex shuttle available)
By the way, you wouldn't see the AS 10 (or the AS 20 or the AS 30) in an international badminton event. Of the Aerosensa models, Yonex has only the AS 40 and AS 50 on the approved list (the Tournament F-90 is another one).

Why wouldn't the less than perfect AS-50 go out as an AS-40?? It has always been my impression that the labeling of these x0 series was basically a quality label, not any difference in design properties, manufacturing process ??
My assumption was that the whole idea of having AS-30 for example was just that...
