Does playing Volleyball make you suck more in badminton?

After volleyball started, I began to suck more and more in badminton. Shots seem to go into the net more often, more rim work, and I seem to miss the shuttle more often than before. Probably Im used to hiting the volleyball at a different timing? Maybe I play less badminton now? Maybe its the net height I've been playing on for badminton (lower net than usual)??

My friend plays badminton, volleyball, and basketball, volleyball and badminton competitively too. His jumpsmash, speed, crosscourt netshots, and stamina are amazing. If anything, volleyball should make you have a better jump smash.

Well, my girlfriend started to play badminton recently after playing volleyball for some years.
I can tell you in the first time she played she was smashing quite hard :)
And she has a very nice racquet swing while smashing or clearing.
The arm movement is quite similar....

Of course, when it comes no net shots she needs to practice a lot, but she is already better than some people who played for 1 year or 2.

So: I think the two should not interfere with each other.

Squash, on the other hand, can really affect your play. If you play squash some times and go back to badminton, the feel of the racquet changes and you need a bit to get it together again. At least that was my experience ;)

    Cheers

Unless i play squash hand badminton on the same day immediately after each other it does not affect me at all, i represented my school in both squash and badminton. I think badminton and squash very very similar(at least the way i play it), compared to something like tennis, the strokes are about the same, only problem would be your wrist becoming stiff from playing squash as you have to "lock" your wrist.

Well, I feel the lightness of the racket while moving from squash to badminton. That's why I say it takes some time to get the feeling back. By some time I mean some minutes of playing ;)

But yes, they are very similar. The backhand grip is different, but several concepts apply there. The first time I played squash I was at the same level as some guys who played for some time.

Other doubles players can jump sideways to smash, like FHF etc. But kido literally run behind the shuttle, jump up, and down. But, that is because of his good footwork that can bring him behind the shuttle so fast.:)
