How do you know if you are improving? When people say you improved, but you don't think you did. When you keep losing to the same person over and over game with the same score. How do you guys tell?
I know I'm always improving because I'm constantly beating those people who said before that I was no-good... rawr.. I know i've improved when my consistency improves, when my shots become more powerful/technique improves, ie: when I can clear full court with my backhand with more consistency..
Losing to the same person means you're not improving. They're probably improving at the same rate. Who says your opponent can't improve too?
You know you have improved when you notice the people you always play against seem to be slower now. bchaiyow
Maybe you could devise a skills test in that you measure your performance against set targets. For example, feeder hits high serve, you clear it to rearcourt to land in rear tramlines. How many out of ten were successfull. Now then the problem here is obviously consistency in feeding. Also, your coach or feeder could multiply your result by a perceived style mark for technique, similar in board diving etc. You score 7/10 multiply by say 1.5 style marks = 10.5.
