stringing a racket

    Hi all

    i got a question to ask...if one of my brand new racket is stringed and i haven been usin it since will it kind of damage the grommets or even the racket??

    uh, no? i believe that your racket will not implode, or warp, if that is what you are thinking. i believe this is best answered by the more experienced strings here at BC

    er, not sure what you are asking.

    are you asking:
    1. if you keep the strings (not broken) on the racket, will it damage the racket?

    answer to that: no, as long as the strings are not broken, the racket should be fine.

    2. if you keep the strings (broken) on teh racket, will it damage the racket?

    answer to that: yes, the uneven tension will warp the racket and the frame will crack.

    3. if you have the racket strung, will the grommets be damaged?

    answer to that: yes, there will always be grommet damage if there is strings on teh racket. however, grommets can be replaced (free or a very low fee) while racket frames cannot.
