    Or you can visit Sport Report at OUB Centre... I think you can get better price and string there...

    Hi all

    Been reading a lot of posts on here recently about the karakal racquets Ive decided to order a m tec 85

    Ive ordered one off amazon but firstly looking at the paint work I just want to check with you guys that its is a mtec 85 as the paintwork looks different to the one on the Karakal website and price wise I paid 27 for it when other websites are changing 40-55 pounds for the same racquet

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...sr=8-18&seller=
    any help would be appreciated

    Thanks

    Actually, the picture might be the old one but you could receive the new one (maybe). You'll just have to wait and see.

    Either way, it's a superb racket so enjoy!

    It is the older version of the Mtec85 but I think other than the paint work which is different, everything else should be the same and in that case, this is really a very good price ! In fact, the color scheme ain't that bad too !

    It is the old model so has to be over 1 year old....it will be even 29.0 balance point....it could be older and from the price most likely is older so make sure the racket will have warranty and that the original grip is still good....grips have a "life" and if too old will wear out in a couple of games....Great price as it is his last one and the new prices will shock him....
    Let us know how the racket plays for you....If for singles play string it 11.5 or higher for the best performance....doubles you can go lower tension

    @mrdunkleysexy

    If it is exactly the same as the new version aside from the paintwork, then I can safely say that it will perform very well. But do feedback and let us know how you feel about it.

    I own an MTec 70 but I'm playing tomorrow afternoon and one of my practise partners has an MTec 80 so I'll ask if I can borrow it to measure then (unless anyone posts them before me).

    i ve played with reguler mtec80+hiqua iso 66 demo string...Balance point with string and without additional grip is 31cm, with kimoni grip is 29.5cm. Weight, it s light weight.. i thinx it similar to carlton powerblade 9500....this racket is rather stiff

    i can tell the feel and other experience cos it look like i ve to change the string first...cos i felt i cant gett feel with iso 66
