I'm looking for a racket with a fairly specific set of characteristics. I've looked on Dinkalots chart, but nothing fits the bill, so I guess I'm pretty unusual. Perhaps something like my old "Carlton Aerogear 800HT"? I currently use a "Prince TT Whisper 81" which is a very nice racket, and amazing value for money, but just a little soft and lacking in power. Anyway, these are my requirements; * Head-light balance * Stiff flex * Lightweight (definitely not much more than 80g) * Fairly high-tension (I use 26lbs) * An iso would be nice but I'm not that bothered. Thanks in advance, for any suggestions
Thanks for the suggestion. Possibly a little heavy given it's medium balance? Also, I can't find anywhere online that sells them in the UK, and I've never even heard of RSL, let alone seen their rackets in shops. Judging by prices on foreign websites they're not cheap though. Any more?
You could try the SOTX 8080+ It's iso, light, stiff (but not very) and supposed to handle 31lb. It is relatively even balanced (pretty quick swing though) http://www.puppysports.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=detail&id=45561&product=802 Black knight make some pretty light rackets. The Rapier (a little "older" racquet) is light and stiff. The Feather XL is very light and manouevrable. I don't know how easy they are to find in the UK. Good luck
There's also Black Knight C2C Nanofire 80g - stiff - even balance - iso head don't know if BK is available in UK though.... like Fidget said (just saw his post)
I second those. They're very cheap as well. The MTec 70 is impossibly light, but if you like light rackets, it should be awesome.
Thanks a lot for all the suggestions everybody. It looks like I'll have to compromise slightly on something, but that's probably to be expected. The Karakal and some of the Black Knight rackets are easy to get a hold of. I might even be able to try a Karakal if I ask around. If not, I'd probably choose the MTec75 as the "safer" option - 70g really is very light. Thanks again
My 2p goes to Ashaway, possibly the Superlight 79/ 79sq. It's described as 'medium' flex, but it's pretty stiff, and ticks most of the other boxes too. Mark
I'd use the APACS Ns9k, Stiff shaft, Iso head, just over 80g and I string mine at 30lbs, have seen one strung at 40lbs..... mine is headlight now after messing with grip sizes but still nicely balanced.
