Hi, I just bought me fixed clamps but now is my question: how can I adjust those clamps for bg-65 strings? The clamps are now te tight so I damage the strings always. Grtz M
You can find a clear pic of the clamps on the following site: http://www.prospro-tennis.nl/site/productShow.php?product=211
This is an Eagnas fixed clamp. There is a knob in the picture. Perhaps, you can adjust it and change the clamping force.
Yes, I now I have to turn that knob but is there a way to know how tight I have to set those clamps? But now, the strings are completely flat when I use the clamps.
I tried it for a long time yesterday but now I have 2 situations and I can't create a situation in between it. 1) the string move a little bit up after I offload the string from the weight. 2) the string doesn't move but when I go further, you still can see a little print of the clamp.
Short of being there to do adjustment for you in person, here is my best suggestion. Get a piece of left over BG65 or whatever you use the most. Clamp it with option #2. Then tension it. Next, release the tension head then release the clamp. Turn the adjustment knob by 1/4 turn. Repeat until the string do not show the clamp mark or when the string slip. If you tried till string slip, do what maa2003 suggested, take it in the middle.
I have similar situation last week when my Eagnas Combo912 (suspension, 6-point mounting, http://www.eagnas.com/lilylee/c912.html) arrived, and after trial and error test, I can have the best position of the clamps.
