Strings broke fast.... really damn fast.
wish i have taken a picture, my newly strung at900 BG85 @ 24 broke during first use, and then another at700 BG65 @ 25 broke after a week, i think something is wrong here.
usually i don't break strings that fast, but then again, i never strung tension this high before (i used 22/20 for a long time).
both racket strings snapped at top corner near the A8-12 grommets, maybe i failed to tie off properly?
after clamping last strings i do not use awls to station grommets, could this be the problem?
thanks for any help.

nope, in fact by not using the awl to station the grommets for the tie-off, the chances of damaging the string is already greatly reduced.
It could be due to the fact that your clamps are damaging the string, or (no offense), you've had multiple mishits. Because at high tension, strings are more susceptible to breakage due to mishits.

Could be several factors. I'm using BG-85 @ 25 x 27, didn't break.

I never use an awl~ I will assume that it was a main side string.
1. Was it a miss hit?
2. How fast do you pull the strings through your grommets when stringing?

75% sure not a miss hit.
yes broke on main.
most of the time i pull strings with left hand complete motion about 60 degree i can hear a bit of "ssshhuuuu" sound.
thanks for the replies dudes, gonna string another bg65 at 20 to see how long it take to break. man... 3 strings a week... this is out of my budget :/Last edited by zeushi; 11-18-2008 at 08:12 AM.

would recommend you check / calibrate the tensiometer on your stringing machine first to make sure it's really 24/25 lbs.
also, make sure the grommets are still in good shape so that string is not grinding against the frame. if the broken string is always on the same grommet, you got a problem there.
since there isn't any shared grommet from A8 to A12, you shouldn't have to use awl, which should be avoided by any means.
good luck.
