Are you shouting during a match?, like tsoooo or saaaaa or ohhhh. I have heard many sounds when i was watching games.
Yes, I shout.. only when I play against people I don't know.. otherwise I find it embarassing Shouting helps me concentrate more on the game, and I also feel that I make way less unforced errors during the game if I shout.
when im playing and its getting near the end and a good rally went by and i won the point ill give a shout out "yeahhh" if i won or "come on" if i lost a rally but i also use that one when i win some the "come on". its just a way of helping to pump up a lil more more so keep the momentum going and try to finish off the game. also in tournaments if i win a match that is a good one like a really tough and hard match ill usually let out a big "yeahhh" at the end if i win it. like i dont be an ass and stand there fist pumping and all that stuff either at the net to my opponent i just think thats wrong to do. when i say "yeah" or win ill make a lil fist and just hsake it back and forth like alot of the other international players do but yeah no major fist pumping.
Walk into the hall/stadium with: -New hair cut + dyed hair ( brown or blonde ) -New, yellow yonex shirt -New, red yonex pants -High-end Yonex racquet strung with yellow strings and with red yonex stencil mark and towel grip. -Yonex socks -Brand new Yonex SHB100LTD -Huge brand new Yonex bag -iPod -Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei walking right beside you This will definitely intimidate the opponent.. or the whole hall .. But during the game, a loud shout would help
Oh yeah... I shout Useally when I make a "kill" on the net in a good rally and when I make a stupid error.
i shout when i won a rally... shout in satisfactions... or sometimes when i did some nice shot that i never imagine i can make such shot such as return net smash by my opponent...
only when i make stupid mistakes. (which unfortunately happens too often these days, especially in doubles) when im tired sometimes i do a low exhale when im smashing from a bad position.
one of my opponents kept pumping his fist at me for every point he won, which i thought was very cocky
unfortunatly there are many times when this will happen, the player on the other side of the net doing it though well there not always trying to be cockey its just part of the game. but there is also the chance that they could get carded from the umpire if he/she feels it is offensive/inappropiate.
Several posts have mentioned shouting to intimidate. Let's all take voice projection classes, to disguise our lack of skill at Badminton Why play a good shot when you can shout instead? Or is this one of the skills of Badminton, and is it coached?
