    MEN'S DOUBLES
Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun [1] vs Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya [8] -- the first match of the day and the veteran has a slim chance of reaching the SF. It will be a major upset if Tony/Candra can beat Fu/Cai.

Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari/Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif [4] vs Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen [6] -- expect an interesting battle between MAS no 1 pair and DEN no 2 pair.

Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah [7] vs Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae [3] -- the Korean pair should take this one.

Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong [5] vs Lars Paaske/Jonas Rasmussen [2] -- order is reversed...MAS no 2 pair vs DEN no 1 pair, with the Danish pair having a slight edge.

    Other interesting clashes:
He Hanbin/Yu Yang [1] vs Lee Yong Dae/Lee Hyo Jung [5] -- Olympics Gold vs Bronze Meddalists in action tomorrow and the top-seed has a slight edge.

    2008 China Open SS (Quarter-Finals, Friday Nov-21)

Day 3 (Round of 16) has resulted with some great wins by some lower ranked players.
    Congratulations to them all.

Let's see if tomorrow, Day 4, Quarter-Finals Day, will bring out the brilliance of these lower ranked players again.

    It would be great for these players to make it to the Semi-Finals, namely;
    Zhu Jingjing
    Julia Pei Xian Wong
    Jiang Yanjiao
    Li Xuerui
    Wen Kai
    Du Pengyu

:D:D:D badMania has created a same thread just 5 minutes ago.

hmm, i have to disagree with this..
imo, koo/tan does look very relax in this tournament p/s LP/JR is having quite a hard time in todays match..
i would rate the malaysians have 55-44% chance in this match..

    I disagree with these two:

Paaske/Rasmussen were struggling with the Korean and English pairs in the previous rounds. How can they have a slight edge? It looks like a wish than a prediction to me.

Barring from any biased line-judging, I expect a thrilling 3-game match between the Olympic Gold & Bronze medalists with the Korean prevailing in the end.

It starts at 2 pm on 3 courts. But there is a gap between matches, at intervals of 45 minutes (except TV court). So if one match ended early and you didn't see anything on livescore after that, doesn't mean it doesn't work.

    My predictions:

    WS:

Xie Xingfang over Jiang Yanjiao - Outgoing CHN queen will want to go out with a bang
Wang Lin over Julia Wong - Gritty as Julia is, Wang Lin will not be disgraced a 2nd time
Zhu Lin over Li Xuerui - Another huffing and puffing scripted movie for out of breath World Champion
Zhu Jingjing over Zhou Mi - Zhou Mi has accumulated too much tournament mileage over the past 3 months, it would be a miracle if she can go much further.

    MS:

LCW over WCH - easy workout for the faster LCW, but no disgrace for excellent WCH
LD over Du Pengyu - likewise, the same for Olympic Champ
Wen Kai over Arvind Bhat - Indian man will be stopped here
PSH over CJ - Park's fitness is key.

    WD:

Du Jing/Yu Yang over Cheng Shu/Zhao Yunlei - World no 1 show their stuff
Wang Siyun/Zhang Jinkiang over Ha Eun Jung/Kim Min Jung - Koreans lack penetration power but it should be a good battle
Zhang Yawen/Zhao Tingting over Lena Frier Christensen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl - CHN pair much too good
Wong Pei Tty/Chin Eei Hui over Xie Jing/Zhong Qianxin - MAS girls just too experienced

    MD:

CY/FHF over Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya - CHN duo cannot be slowed down
    Jonas Rasmussen/Lars Paaske
over KKK/TBH - Smart resident BC forummers turn the tables on MAS pair
LYD/JJS over Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah - MAS uncles cannot last the pace
Fairuz/Zakry over Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen - close match but Danish match temperament will get the better of them

    XD:

HHB/YY over LYD/LHJ - Olympic bronze medallists take over Olympic Champs
Xu Chen/Zhao Yunlei over Shen Ye/Tian Qing - Xu/Zhao the better pair
Zheng Bo/Ma Jin over Robert Blair/Imogen Bankier - Too much power for Blair and Bankier too handle
Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter Juhl over Yoo Yeon Seong/Kim Min Jung - Danish are more agressive
