lol. i wish there was a secret to singles. my coach simply says, to be good at singles, all you have to is "run around like a headless chicken." i think that sums up singles very well
yes actually there is. pissing off your opponents usually helps. and obviously stay back alittle more ifyou intend to clear or lift...if you drop you should move towards the net after you drop cause chances are they'll drop and you have to get their really fast.. if they clear ... then you should have the time to get back their...same with you lifting or clearing...stay back cause they'll probably clear back or smash. if they drop...then you'll have time to counter as it usually puts them in a bad position.
those aren't secrets. most people who play singles with some level of competitiveness will know that stuff.
there is no real secret, just need to have great footwork, great consistincy, stragety skills, endurance, and mental toughness and then you will be a pretty decent singles player.
Geeeesh! It's a secret. That's why nobody knows it. Question: Now that they have posted the secret here, is it still a secret?
nick hit it dead on, as expected from a now national player ...although i should add that a skill that every great singles players have is great confidence...i believe you just need that "aura" or belief in yourself before you can master the art of utilizing your great footwork/consistancy/tactics/endurance...otherwise, you are really just running around like a headless chicken
im going to echo the guy that said footwork. my coach was a singles player and the first thing he taught me was footwork and how to cover all corners and sides in 2 steps from the centre. its also good to be always be on the balls and toes of your feet so you can step quicker. of course you need some endurance to do this for a whole game and keep your consistency with shots.
tips for playing single is : 1. Dont make mistakes while playing 2. Return all the shot successfully If you can do this 2 things, u r a successful single player. Haha ......
