    MEN'S DOUBLES
Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya [8] vs Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen [6] -- both pairs have upsetted the top and fourth seeds respectively today. It's a rematch of the Chinese-Taipei Open Final, which was won by Boe/Mogensen. I think another three-setter looms and Boe/Mogensen have the edge if it does go to rubber-set. I hope Tony/Candra can give their best yet again and win it in straight-sets!

Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae [3] vs Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong [5] -- a repeat of the Badminton Asia Championships Final. It will be a tremendous achievement for Koo/Tan to beat the Korean pair....and they seem to be up for it after they survived today's gruelling encounter against the Danish second seed. However, Jung/Lee do have a slight edge.

badMania, may I suggest you to review your predictions on QF (1 out of 5) before making prediction on SF.

I am surprise with KKK/TBH performance today, the 2nd game at the end is really the turning point. Hope they can find back their previous killer touch.

I am looking forward for LCW vs LD final.

    Both MD matches are 50:50

    TV Court:

Jiang Yanjiao over Zhu Lin - Yup, I am still not impressed with Zhu Lin's fitness and lack of PAW pts ..... :D
Lee Chong Wei over Park Sung Hwan - World No 1 to reach another Super Series final, after another difficult match
Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya over Carsten Mogensen/Mathias Boe - INA-US uncles use their brain to outwit Danish powerhouses
Lin Dan over Wen Kai - Olympic Champion in search of enough mooolah to qualify for Super Series Finals .... :D
Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae over Koo Kien Kiat/Tan Boon Heong - Current All-England champs in better form than former All-England champs.

    Non-TV Court:

    Lee Yong Dae/Lee Hyo Jung
over Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter-Juhl - Now that their main opposition is gone, it's a walk in the park for Olympic Champions
Wang Lin over Zhu Jingjing - Chinese youngster staking a claim for the Super Series finals spot.
Du Jing/Yu Yang over Zhang Yawen/Zhao Tingting - To have a better chance of WD title, tomorrow's opera will put Olympic Champs in the starring lead
Wong Pei Tty/Chin Eei Hui over Ha Eun Jung/Kim Min Jung - In-form MAS girls out for blood and revenge after S'pore Open loss
Zheng Bo/Ma Jin over Xu Chen/Zhao Yunlei - Power vs finesse, power wins

seems like TV-court mostly biased to MS and MD.

What's the point of saying this man? It's not a competition of who did better guesses. As the TV coverage is not good (thus one cannot analyze the performances of the players in this tournament before making predictions), rigorously speaking all such "predictions" are just combinations of guesswork-experience-wishful thinking.

is that even possible, since LD has only play in 3 SS this year (5 include CO & HKO)..

or did BWF just revised the rules?

btw, i'd loved to see him compete in MF..^^

Interestingly, the MD title has been won by INA pairs at least since 2004.
2004 & 2005: Candra Wijaya/Sigit Budiarto (memorable final in 2005 against Jens Eriksen/Martin Lundgaard Hansen right till the end, which I watched live on TV in Shenzhen)

2006 & 2007: Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan (over Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun and Guo Zhendong/Xie Zhongbo in straight sets. I was in Guangzhou to watch the Finals on both occassions).

2008: first time the tournament is held in Shanghai.....who will win the MD title? IMHO, Jung Jae Sung/Lee Yong Dae have the highest chance since their most feared opponent (Paaske/Rasmussen) lost today. But I hope Tony/Candra can keep the "tradition" of winning in China Open. 2 more matches for them to overcome!

Its comforting seeing Mathias/Carsten progress to carry on the Danish MD's. They're not young (mid-late 20s) but they should have 3-4 good years left.

They should have longer life-span as most Danish MD pairs tend to last till 30++. Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen are improving a lot this year and they show that they can win a few titles as well this year.

The Zheng Bo/Ma Jin combo is off to a good start.

will this pairing be permanent? maybe Ma Jin has the same playing style as Gao Ling.
