i have a blister on my left foot below the big toe due to landing on that exact spot after every jump. after couple hours of playing, it becomes more and more painful to land on it. unfortunately its not bad enough to stop playing completely (i can play at 100% for 2-3 hours), so it never heals. is there anyway to prevent this? or to treat it? i even tried wearing two pairs of socks and that doesnt seem to do anything. thanks
i have the exact same situation...i think my skin there is completely dead so i never feel it at all..not sure what to do in your case though
Usually, thicker socks or change the insole would solve the problem. I've had it too, and it was painful. I made a hole at the blister and drained the liquid inside and let it heal. I didn't trim the dead skin out because it will be more painful if the flesh under it would touch the socks or anything.
Solutions: 1)Get new cushioning insoles ( eg: SuperFeet Blue/Green ) 2)Wear thicker socks. Yonex socks are generally very thick. 3)Wear shoes with better cushioning in the soles I get this problem too and my feet start feeling like as if it's burning while I'm playing singles. I put two layers of cushioning insoles ( thin ones from Asics and Nike ), and now I don't get any blisters under my feet.
i was wearing thick RSL socks and Yonex SHB71EX (the orange ones) my roommate told me blisters comes from the friction of my skin rubbing against the socks constantly, and he told me to try putting duct tape on the blisters so the duct tape will rub against my socks instead. i will see if that works tomorrow. if not, then i'll buy some new insoles to try out. thanks
Drain the fluid from the blister by sticking a pin in it and inject betadine whilst bighting down hard on the shaft of your badminton racket, lol and try thicker socks. Try some non abrasive insoles. I use the ones out of my old work shoes and they are really comfortable.
yes you should deffinetly drain the fluid from the blister, if you have to get rid of the dry skin apply some anti bacteria stuff and bandage it up as well stay off of it for 5 or more days allowing it to heal. i have had this happen once where i had a calos form over a blister and had to get through the hard skin and drain the blister get rid of the skin and then bandage it up, honestly the exposed skin only stings in contact with stuff for the 1st day not even but you deffinetly need to give it time to heal.
the skin beneath my big toes are so dead so i don't feel anything anymore...but i think it took quite some time (prolly 40 layers peeled off) before reaching this stage. From what you say...i think i used to be in your shoes and like you, i never bothered with it cos it wasn't bad enough to stop me from playingguess soon it'd be hardened and painless. From my experience from route marches in the army...i think powder is the best way to reduce friction especially between toes. Have tried everything--insoles, double-socks etc but i feel powder is the best. But i don't know if putting lots and lots of powder in your socks might affect your game.
This can also be caused by your shoes not being tight enough, so make sure they're laced up properly and fit correctly..
As destricto said, I had this problem when I played more intesively a few years ago and I got a blister at the exact same spot after every workout and I just ripped the skin off draining the fluid and geting rid of the excess skin but thats not a good solution in the long run ^^. Turned out to be my shoes being a tad to large so everytime I had to stop quickly my feet slide in the shoe and the skin got irritaded and it felt like my feet were on fire after a few hours. Try getting better fitting shoes unless you have good shoes already ofc.
Read your own words; you've answered the question yourself. The problem is that you refuse to take enough rest, and continue to aggravate the blister by playing. Make sure you are wearing thick sports socks (such as Thorlos). You can use a blister plaster (Compede) to help protect the blister from further abrasion.
wearing cotton socks causes moister to build up in your feet. When friction is combined blusters form. The best way to fix this problem is to change socks often or wear wool socks.
well, i know that if i stop playing it'll probably heal, but that's really not worth it i would rather walk with a temporary limp and play 3 times a week then not play at all. i mainly want to stop it from happening altogether, or at least less severe
If you drain it with a pin it will be painless within a day, and the skin should be good and hard within the week. Just drain and forget about it. I dont have feet anymore, just hooves, but thats how i treated my blisters .
Or -- drumroll... Change your socks part way through a club night. A bit radical, I know. You have to bring a spare pair. And, keeping with the radical suggestions, you could always have a shower after the club night.
