    Greetings,

Just a reminder that the event in which Toni-R is playing in her Chao Feng Chinese Orchestra's 25th year anniversary concert is coming soon... Sunday 19-Aug-2007.

The other 2 players, Vivien-C and Eric-L who came with Toni-R to play with us at our CCC@Waverley, are also in the Chinese Orchestra.

The traditional Chinese instruments performing will include the Erhu (bowed string), the Pipa (plucked string), the Sheng (wind), etc...

The large Hong Kong orchestra invited to perform with them is the renowned Hong Kong YWCA Chinese Orchestra.

So please email Robbo77 if you would like to buy tickets.

    .
For those who missed out on Hoe-L's Open Chinese Garden display, you have also missed out on Jason-F's photos taken at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. There were so many photos ... probably 888 photos. Correct me if I am wrong Jason-F.

Default Our NUSS Society also has its own cultural show

Believe it or not, I'm one of the remaining few pioneers of our NUSS (National University of Singapore) Choir which will present "Thank You For The Music" at it's 10th Anniversary Concert at the University Cultural Centre on 8 November 2008. Ticket is priced at S$15.

Our Programme will include most of the following songs:

    Part 1: CLASSICAL

    > 1. Look At The World (Rutter)
    > 2. Hallelujah Amen ( Handel)
    > 3. Gloria In Excelsis Deo ( Mozart)
    > 4. Piu Non Si Trovano ( Mozart)
    > 5. Luci Care ( Mozart)
    > 6. Kyrie Eleison ( Mozart)
    > 7. How Lovely Are The Messengers (Mendelssohn)
    > 8. Dirait On (Lauridsen)
    > 9. French Serenade Medley
    > 10.Tales From Vienna Forest ( Strauss)

    Part 2: POPULAR

    > 1. Singapura Medley (Arranger:Robert Delgade)
    > 2. Bengawan Solo (Arranger: Elaine W Chan)
    > 3. Dahil Saiyo (Arranger: Fabiah Obispo, Jr)
    > 4. Teresa Teng Medley (Arranger: Elaine W Chan)
    > 5. ABBA's Extended Medley (Arranger: Elaine W Chan)

For the first time our NUSS Band will accompany us for the ABBA Medley, which will include these numbers: I Have a Dream; SOS; Take a Chance on me; Chiquitita; Fernando; Money, Money, Money; I Do, I Do, I Do; Dancing Queen and Thank you for the Music.

ABBA will also be choreographed by one of our members, Dr Derek Aw.

I managed to round up 6 of our section's badminton players to support the show. And I also got another 7 from my varsity mates.

    Annual Games with UM

And this Friday to Saturday, our NUSS Badminton Section will be up in KL to renew our annual ties with the University of Malaysia Alumni. The Games will include Badminton, Golf, Soccer, Squash, Table tennis and Tennis. The 'extra' game will be the "Boat Race" - a challenge in beer drinking to determine which team is the fastest.

    Great fun ahead indeed!
