What do you mean by hypnosis? I use to court practice more starting 1 month earlier and upto before 10 days of the tournament. Physically what should I do during the lean season? means what short of run, physical exercises and weight trg. Please let me know.
u can rant and bad mouth your opponent days before the match. I know some competitors do that Not recommended tho.
i more or less try to relax...either music and my own personal quiet time or just do something fun that i enjoy so im not stressed out...then on game day its serious face time
What one should do for great stamina for playing Badminton? We don't have facility for swiming. Should we do regular running/jogging? What type of running is advisable? Pl. advise.
Like me ... if it is a really important/big match/tournament ... I would warm up for 1-2 hour(s) ... If it is football 2-4 .. but we are discussing about badminton right?
errrr...why would you warm up for that long :S for a big badminton match/tournament i start warmup 20-30 minutes before the game.....start stretching and doing some basic movement warmups and listen to either relaxing music or pump up music (whatever i feel like). then get on court and warmup for around 5 minutes before we have to start. I also find just talking and sitting with close friends having a joke around or just chilling out helps relax me mentally. 1-2 hours of warmup is rediculous. If your talking purely about mentally relaxing or preparing even that is overkill........who has the time to meditate for 2 hours before a badminton game lol i find that really strange. But thats just my opinion.
professionals players in sport warm up for 1-2 hours, (even pro people in golf). They are maybe stretching for 20 minutes, and they warm up maybe for 30 minutes and take some pause and then start again, swing the racket with no shuttlecock and imagining to see the shuttlecock fly and lend exactly where it should lend. If you are warming up for hours you are warming up much slower and in other way then warming up for 30 minutes
Seeing as oldhand said, this thread is about the "psychical part" i thought you were probably referring to 1-2 hours of mental warmup in the form of mediation or whatever. Light physical warm up every so often before a match i find reasonable and understand.
I always wondering how to make it balanced between two: physical strength and flexibility as both are key factors for a badminton player even though they are somewhat opposite feautres. Psychical part is another key axis in badminton that is connected to keen concentration on the play itself and opponents. To correctly read the opponents' mind would be practiced in plays.
During serves, when they take too long on an important point, does that ever make you really nervous, or they ask to take a quick break, or untie their shoes because it's "not tight enough." Do you think this is really a problem? I personally don't feel pressured during these moments for I'm a very easy going guy (in my opinion).
In my case, if it's not a tournament game, I don't care, just enjoying those tensions. But in real tournament, if they do it very frequently and tactically, they should make me nervous; but even in this case, I should not to win; instead, enjoying the nervousness of my opponents.
