Hi A lot of danish players are in the irish open draw. Do you know which structure pay for these players : - danish federation - province - club - parents or players That's just to understand how works the danish system. Thanks Zhao
Danish system is a bit complicated. Some of the players in irish open are part of danish national team training center, but not funded (or funded with a very small amount, which will only cover 1 or 2 tournaments). For these players, the clubs will pay for most of their expenses, the rest they pay for out of their own pocket. This would be players like kolding/elbjørn (md), overgaard (ws). A few of the players are highly funded by federation, like vittinghus (ms), brosolat jensen, sørensen (ws), nielsen/røpke (wd). Players like delfs, kronborg, prehn (ms), hoff/mørk (md) are funded by a combination of club and province, but mostly province. Danish provinces send out many players who are not good enough for national team, but still decent players. They also support some of the national team players who doesnt get a lot of funding, like the ones i mentioned in first group. So it's all a big mixture of different clubs, provinces, national team players and even some who have to pay with a little of their own money. Clubs and provinces are very important in Denmark as federation has very little money, without clubs/provinces we would see fewer danish talents emerging im sure.
