Here's my limited on-court vocabulary: A drop doesn't make it over: (Freeze + Stony Silence) A smash hits the net: (Glare + Heavy Breathing) A smash goes out at the side: (Glare + Heavy Breathing) A smash goes out at the back: 'Aaaaaaaaarghhhhhh!' A tap goes into the net: 'Aaaaaaaaarghhhhhh!' A trick shot doesn't work: 'Damn!' (for XD) and '***k' (for MD) By the way, I react only when the one who screwed up is me. As a matter of voluntary policy, I always forgive my partner's mistakes (although what I'd really like to offer is an especially hard kick to the backside) I don't react when I make a kill. After all, goading an opponent often makes him play better

A tap goes into the net: 'oh damn' or 'hey, it went over. you just didn't see it. ' A trick shot doesn't work: 'damn it..' A trickshot gets counter-attacked: 'how the f*ck did you do that' well.. If i were to shout, I just say 'sa', or 'yossha ( yes! in japanese )'

A tap goes into the net: Shake head A trick shot doesn't work: Laugh and smile wryly at opponent A trickshot bamboozles my opponent: Wink and smile at opponent Funny that, jhirata, when I shout whilst smashing, I sometimes use those two.
well smashing : Racket sound only..... fail to smash : duhh!!!! (maybe next time) dropping : Ting!!!!! fail to drop : Haizzz!!! returning smash : bash!!! fail to return : Aaaah!!!( good mood ) SH*T!! ( in a temper ) trick shot went in : smile... trick shot stuck : Thinking ( how come ???? next one will do... )
I let my racquet make all of the noise (boom, bang, *slice*, etc) I dont' really talk or comment on court.
For me when i F**k up my shots it is always hei...... But the difference is the volume of it .....Loud to louder and finally F**king loud like a ROAR .....
hmmm... i play only singles most of the times... any kind of accolades from opponent -- Beak shut.. not a sound birdie touching top line o net and falling in my court -- "i hate this"... smash gone in net --- "am an idiot".. birdie landing in sidelines -- "am playing doubles u idiot (me)"... generally i keep quiet while playing... above r exceptions...
After hitting a kill, I shout "ASSSAAAAAAH!!!!," which is short for "asa ka pa," meaning "dream on." I like say in my thoughts, "there's no chance you'll get that back!!!" But of course I don't say it out loud 'coz I don't wanna appear cocky, so it's hidden in my expression. If I get outmaneuvered by my opponent, I shout "Pohtah," which is the accented version of the word "puta," which literally means "b$tch."
My shouts : Jumping Smash, "Heahhh..." (Only certain position though ) Tap goes into the net, breathing "sigh..." Smash hits the net, "Aww... Man", "Ja Elah -_-x", "Weqz", "Walah..." Hits the net Twice in a row, "What... the --;" Hits the net Three times in a row, "AAAArrrrggggHHHh......." Hits the net again in a row, Hitting the floor with my cone, "whY? wHY? WHY? ArRgGGggHHhHh...." Failed shot (out / hits the net) which I'm certain off, Staring... and then breathing "Sigh..." Bad position in game (nearing loss), "Yoshhh!!! Ayo belum kalah ene!!!" (Yoshhh!!! We're not gonna lose!!!) <-- English Translation Well... I guess that's all
any mistake i made...i will: shiooooooooooooooooh....very loud...KEKE......(plus knocking my head with racket if silly mistake) after i done a killer smash...i will: uuuuuussssssss.......hehe...not funny...fainted... if i play double....1st thing i will do is...say sorry to my patner when i commit error...
Putting you off What happens if the noises your opposition make actually put you off. I'm not talking about the noises people make when smashing, but those cries (oh s**t) when they make a terrible mistake and give you a sitter at the net, or a one-off bad serve. When someone does that I think great - a killer opportunity has come up!! trouble is, I sometimes miss them as a result - its almost too easy - and my expectations are so high! I also played against a pair who would shout 'out' when they thought they had hit something wide. If you leave it and it is IN then you have lost the point - fair enough you shouldn't have left it. But in doubles in the heat of the moment, what if you believed it was your partner's call and left it because of that - I wonder if that's sportsmanship - strictly speaking you shouldn't have left it as its still your own decision. I'm not saying people shouldn't call out or make noises - it would be stupid as we all do it at some point, but some types of calling are borderline (not) 'sportmanship'. Personally, I don't call out very often during the rally, especially in doubles, so that when I do call my partner understands it. I just wondered if anyone had similar experiences.
i used to shout at every mistakes ,whether done by me or my partner, but since my coach's advices i'm usually stay calm n quite even i make a blunder during a perfect rally ... and shouting n calling names also shows the weakness of one's temprament which is the key to play every sport at best .
