Hi All My name is Abdul Waheed. I am from Pakistan, working in Nortel Networks as Logistics Specialist. I have been playing badminton from last 3 years. I would not say I am professional player but i have played many District and Divisional Level tournaments. Welcome to Badminton Central, Mr Waheed. Good to see another country added to the BC map. I too am intrigued as to the level of badminton in Pakistan as it's not a country I would associate with badminton at all but then again, there may be some surprises.
Our Top player are "Rizwan Azam, Umer Zeeshan, Wajid Ali. but in international ranking our National players are on very low ranking which is very disappointing situation for us. The only reason is our Government is not supporting this game. some years back Pakistan was in on 6th number in international ranking. I hope there would be a day when Pakistan will again get its ranking.
Dear Arslan This is good to know that another countryman is already on board. i would like to know from where you belongs from Pakistan and where you play badminton.
