I tried on the Gel Blast but ended up buying the Gel Domain. I used it 3 times sparingly and gave them to a freind for half price. If you like flexibility, lightness, grip, and speed, these shoes are not for you. I went back to Yonex 100ltd. Asics and Mizuno volleyball shoes are designed for bigger guys. The tops of the Asics are more heavily padded for toe drag and protection. Also, the sole and midsole are heavier in order to support the pounding on every spike and block attempt. The outsole didn't grip well from the outset. The grip pattern is not of a tight or small pattern but more of a larger design made for durability. If you are comparing them to Hi-Tec or Nike or Adidas, I think they will be great. But if you are used to the lightness of Yonex and the like, you will be disappointed. The cheaper Gel Rocket might be better for flexibility.
