    Men's Singles
Sony Dwi Kuncoro [2] vs Joachim Persson [3] -- Sony can secure top spot and is likely to play against Peter Gade tomorrow if he can beat Joachim.

Taufik Hidayat [5] vs Andrew Smith [7] -- Taufik can also get an extra US$5k if he can beat Andrew Smith and should play Lee Chong Wei tomorrow.

    Men's Doubles
    Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan
[1] vs Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen [4] -- Kido/Hendra should take this one and progress to SF.

Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan [1] vs Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong [5] -- a tough one to predict....it could go either way. But I hope Kido/Hendra can show their true form.

Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen [4] vs Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya [6] -- Boe/Mogensen have the edge from recent matchups.

Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong [5] vs Tony Gunawan/Candra Wijaya [6] -- the MAS pair should take this one and advance to the SF.

    Women's Doubles
    Vita Marissa/Liliyana Natsir
[2] vs Judith Meulendijks/Yao Jie [8] -- a spot in the SF should be secured for Vita/Butet.

Vita Marissa/Liliyana Natsir [2] vs Ha Jung Eun/Kim Min Jung [4] -- the last time they met, Ha/Kim won. I fear a similar result could happen today.

Lena Frier-Kristensen/Kamilla Rytter-Juhl [3] vs Jo Novita/Greysia Polii [7] -- a tough matchup for Jo/Grace...the one that determines whether they will progress to the SF. I hope they can win.

Wong Pei Tty/Chin Ee Hui [1] vs Jo Novita/Greysia Polii [7] -- the top seed should take this one.

    Mixed Doubles
    Nova Widianto/Liliyana Natsir
[1] vs Sudket Prapakamol/Saralee Thoungthongkam [5] -- Nova/Butet will also secure top spot by beating Sudket/Saralee. It depends on whether they prefer playing Laybourn/Rytter-Juhl or Clark/Kellogg in the SF.

Robert Blair/Imogen Bankier [4] vs Flandy Limpele/Vita Marissa [7] -- both pairs have been eliminated, so, Flandy/Vita are playing just for pride.

Sorry I didn't update much during the event, the Blackberry ran out of batteries due to over-exuberance of my office colleagues, sending my bucketloads of email.

Today, I brought the charger along.

Vita/Lily reach interval at 11-9, initially they were in control up to 7-0, before Yao/Judith started chasing

A lot of INA loose net returns, but not many were punished by the Dutch..

Raphy is walking towards his action capturing position.

Vita/Lily take the 1st 21-14, on account of their good start. KOR girls also took their 1st game with the same scoreline.

BTW, Dr Kang, the BWF president is here.
