taufik call lin dan a great actor

    Friday December 19, 2008
Taufik slams ‘drama king’ Lin Dan

INDONESIA’S most celebrated men’s singles shuttler Taufik Hidayat has branded China’s Lin Dan an “actor”.

Yet, he sees the ‘drama king’ as his main challenger in the pursuit to end his elusive chase for the All-England title next year.

“Lin Dan is a powerful player but sometimes, he puts on an act.

“Like how it was at this year’s All-England (in March),” said Taufik.

Stretching it: Indonesia’s Taufik Hidayat in action in the Super Series yesterday.

Lin Dan lost to compatriot Chen Jin in the final.

“But a week later, he put up a great show to win the Swiss Open.

“He plays with heavy straps on his knees sometimes. He loses in one tournament and then goes out to win in another.

“The fact is he is a powerful player,” said Taufik.

This is not the first time that the 28-year-old Taufik has hit out at Lin Dan.

The Indonesian had also criticised the Olympic champion’s on-court behaviour on previous occasions.

Taufik, a two-time former All-England runner-up, however, admitted that the going was getting tougher for him by the year.

“My goal is to win my first All-England title next year but it will not be easy. I am getting older and injuries are of concern to me. Next year could be my best chance to pull it off,” he said.

Taufik almost became the second big name after world No. 2 Lin Dan to miss the ongoing Masters Finals Super Series.

Luckily, the Indonesian had a change of heart.

Lin Dan and the rest of China’s players had pulled out from the prestigious tournament.

“I was not supposed to be here.

“I am nursing a back injury. But my sponsor wanted me to come and I obliged,” said Taufik.

Taufik lost his first Group B match against compatriot Sony Dwi Kuncoro yesterday.

But he bounced back in his second match to get the better of Denmark’s Joachim Persson, 20-22, 21-11, 21-17.

TH is jealous. He thinks anytime LD lost it is acting. He is jealous that LD doesn't put an act on him so he can win some titles. LOL

This is his another slam on LD. Hmm, how many time LD slammed TH ?(except on the court). LD does his talking on the court. That's how a professional suppose to behave.

    LOL... Taufik strikes again.

Lin Dan needs to show Taufik some mercy on court, so Taufik will stop attacking him verbally in public.

Combining the two accusations that Taufik has made towards Lin Dan, does that make Lin Dan an "arrogant actor" now??? Since Taufik like to use words that start with an "a" to describe Lin Dan... one can only imagine what the next word is going to be...haha... "a**" LOL

Taufik is probably angry that while Lin Dan is having some good rest, training and improving... he has to play in pointness tournament wasting his energy, and risk further injury just because Yonex needs him to sell tickets during the absense of Lin Dan. It could have been Taufik sitting at home, watching TV with popcorn in one hand, and scratching his butt with the other(using OneToughBirdie's term). LOL

I think Taufik is implying to Lin Dan not to show up for the 2009 All England, or else Taufik will continue to call Lin Dan names in front of the media...hahahahaaaaaa...

The 2009 AE war has started, and Taufik has initiated a mind battle to unsettle LD. At 28, skills and fitness are not enough considering that they were not enough to win over LD over the last year when he was younger. This is Taufik's last attempt at winning the AE. LD can be egged into a rage, but Taufik will have to pull something similar to the Li Mao incident to really derail LD.

    i beg to differ...:rolleyes::rolleyes:
if he is professional, he would not have
throw his racquet at Li Mao during KO 08
although the racquet didnt hit Li Mao
if he is professional, he would not throw his
racquet and refuse to wear the warrior hat,
strip his medal immediately or throw away the
winner mock cheque after the prize giving ceremony
during LCW infamous win over him during MO 2006
or even hit his coach Ji Xin Peng?
    :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

it would be so much easier on your "Injury" if you can to Canada, but when heavier competition asks, you oblige to risk hurting yourself ...i think Taufik's just scared of Lin Dan next year at AE...Lin Dan will probably peak for that tourny alone now xD...

lol, yup. This moto mouth pulled the same media stunt in 2006 prior to asian game at doha. I doubt it is LD's joy to beat TH anymore. Now, there is a stronger motive for the younger chinese MS that want to prove their worth to LYB by beating TH.

    *cough cough*
throwing racket IS TALKING ON THE COURT.
TH was bad mouthing someone who is not presence in a warm and safe setting.

If TH does a walkout at 1-4 of game 1 of 06 HKO and make clown gesture in front of umpire and line judge, do u think TH would have done something
even more dramatic if korean line judge did that same thing to him at set point of the rubber set?

Was that a warrior hat at the 06 MO? LOL
So if u go to a battle, the enemy breaks down from ROFL and then u shoot them???
BTW, that stupid hat was his, he can do anything he want with it.
Of course he threw away the mock cheque, he surely cant carry that to the plane ride home.

cry all u want, BWF fined TH for HKO walkout, no fine for LD's KO.

prove to me that LD hit JXP.

    i accept with open heart
as his fan is supporting him strongly and "professionally"
if you said the hat looked stupid...
please have some respect to our culture
i will not comment on this "smart" thread anymore...

why dont u have some respect for him as a person??
the right to the gift was given to him, it's his right to wear or not to wear it. If the gift has a conditon attached to it, then it is not a gift.

No doubt about it, LD does have a fiery temper. When he was interviewed live on air by CCTV after his Olympic 08 gold win, they played the KO 08 ms final match incident. LD admitted that he was no angel & would try to change for the better. This I called courage.

LD is at present the only player who has eclipsed TH in terms of sweeping the major titles (WC (2), AE (3), OC), so what does that speak of TH when he now says that he will target AE? Hunger..., jealous...childish behaviour...???

Agreed. No one is perfect. LD had accepted his past weakness and strive to improve it, both in technical play and now his emotional side. Remember in his early days, people labelled him as a machine, no skills, lack focus, just jumpsmashing. Now u look at LD, he can net with the best, he can sustain long clearing rallies with the best, and stamina to last with the best. He doesn't fold under pressure. He uses jumpsmashing occasionally just to relief his muscle tension. Look at TH now, technique improved? No. Stamina Improved, no. Any new skills? No. Motomouth action, no change.

Actually I recommend changing the thread title to "Taufik called Lin Dan a BAD actor", because that's exactly what Taufik was trying to say that Lin Dan's acting skill in tournament situation has been so bad, that Taufik could identify it easily... so that only means that Lin Dan is a "bad" actor.:p

probably with the intention of preventing Lin Dan from becoming a movie star or Hollywood star which is something that Taufik probably can't see himself getting involved in. haha

Can't wait to see how Badzine can turn this around and say it is Lin Dan's fault that Taufik likes to bad-mouth him. haha

I'll have to agree with taufik.....I mean look at the countless times he lost to his teammates....it's always like an exhibition match.....its so obvious that he's helping his teammate....but then....that's LYB's fault....chinese players should be like zhou mi....not blinded by their coach....

Why don't boleh fans not be blinded by their boleh spirit and start praising how good Lin Dan is, and boo LCW for how badly he got owned by Lin Dan???

It's easy to say "should've this", and "should've that", but how often has this ideal situation come true???
