I noticed during the SS final semis that Widianto / Natsir seems to have got a new sponsor.. Achilles ?!?! Anyone have any in fo about the brand? I have never heard of Achilles.. Cheers, Twobeer
I found the http://www.achillestires.com/ but I doubt that has anything related to the badminton sponsorship of Widianto / Natsir.. (it seems to be an american company American Pacific Industries behind achilles tires, and a very different logo).. /Twobeer
^ i believe there is no connection between achilles american company and indonesian achilles even both making tire can you give me the picture (logo) on Nova/lily shirt? Some Indonesian player who came in the Super Series at their own money or sponsored by company, cause PBSI doesnt have fund to support them. Taufik, Hendra/Kido with their own money, Sony with APACS, Flandy with Flypower......etc
the logo was like a 1/4 Donut (arch/tupe) and then a separate dot inside the "broken donut" (i think the dot was red and the 1/4 donut part was blue) my paint effort for the logo would be something like:
Errrr i never see that logo hehehehehe.....i'll search also information about the sponsor and after i know i'll post here.
I just watched Widianto/Natsir lost the finals... After the match, both of them put on a shirt writing "FLYPOWER - ACHILLES".
i c ........ Flypower is one of local brand in badminton equipment I quite often see Flypower brand especially in shoes but never see the logo
Interesting.. If i remember correctly Flypower is a brand of OEM from Taiwan (MMOA factory).. interesting indeed.. cheers, Twobeer
Wow, from what I saw on the TV, Vita Marissa (Natsir's Women's Doubles partner) has also turned to "Flypower - Achilles". I do not know the racquet brand and models that Widianto, Natsir and Marissa are using but all of their strings are painted with the Flypower logo. Is it possible that they can even use Yonex racquets?
just like the malaysian when they are sponsor by gosen some of them still use yonex rakcet with gosen logo painted on them nastsir look like using AT900T
It is really hard to tell what brand there is of the racket just by looking at the overall desing from a distance.. Some players may feel confident with not switching rackets, and make deals with new sponsor to continue to use their old rackets.. But with all clones, design copying etc. going around, I would be really careful to stick my neck out claiming what racket they are actually using without closer inspection or discussion with the player in question /Twobeer
You're right, i'm wrong My knowledge in badminton equipment still poor Vita, Natsir and Nova still use YY racket only logo on the string different
