Anyone else a Fan of Mark? He has a good playing style, good hair and at the start of the year was sporting a moustache

Huge for him and probably for German badminton as well. I really like his changed style of play. Keep it up!

Well done to Marc, getting through to the to Indonesian ssp final, playing really well this week.

Love his on court demeanor, he is always complimentary giving thumbs up/applauding is opponents on court like it is a local club night. He shows a lot of class, true gentleman.

yes he does...everytime...like that time he almost beat CJ at London 2012...he gave thumbs up for every good shot CJ threw at him...too bad he got injured at the last minute and couldn't continue playing normally

Yeah, showing respect and complimenting your opponent shows that he really has the character of a true sportsman

I noticed this too when he was playing against Sugiarto. It just makes me appreciate him as a player even more.

I'm really rooting for him to beat LCW tomorrow even though it seems unlikely. Nothing against LCW personally, I'm just so sick of his domination in the SS events.

I bet Mark is a very inconvenient opponent to play even for top-seeded players. He has his own style with a lot of soft blocks and pushes, varying the pace of shots hugely. Watching him play in the semi-final I think he gained a lot in his game, hope he can keep up with the speed of LCW tomorrow and dictate the pace of his own like in the game of today.

He has a very aggressive playstyle which helped him to absolutely destroy Tommy Sugiarto. Tommy also seemed very annoyed and maybe was thinking that Marc doesnt play REAL badminton. Imo, Marc has too much power to focus on keeping the rally long. Also, his footwork is a bit sloppy and a bit too energetic, so thats another reason to keep smashing as long as you can

He fits the style of a typical german player

I think it's quite the opposite with Marc. He does not have the power like LCW or even Tommy Sugiarto but he stays in the rally and once he got his opponent under pressure he won't let him get out of it.
If he really wanted to keep the rallies short he would most definitely not keep flicking from the net.

Don't know if it is available to re watch, but have a look for his game against yanus in round 2, you can see Marc's long rally skills

Think missing the Sudirman Cup gave him the extra energy he needed. He played a sound tactical game last week
Marc is fun to watch he can pull off some really classy shots from time to time. Hope he can push on from this final and win a Superseries event
