He's left handed, but in some cultures, lefties are "encouraged" to use their right hands for writing and eating.
u might be right but there are people who naturally use left hand to play and righthand to wriet or vice versa. my wife is one example...
That's probably not the case, especially when talking about professional badminton in China....where that cultural stigma against eating/writing with the left hand and where strength is encouraged.
Depends on who is LD's opponent...against TH and LCW left hand...against OTB right hand and handicap OTB with 14 points and 2 service first in 15-point rally game, and LD still win...
I dont know why.. I just picked up the racket and started playing with my right hand.. and i naturally write with my left.. :S
chinese writing. it will be more suitable if using right hand. that is why LD learn to write with right hand. he is left-handed guy but come to writing, he will use right hand.
Lefties were considered devils offspring or something hundreds of years ago in many cultures, and some still seep through today and you still get grandma & grandpa telling the little kids to write with right hand. Common in Asia, had a friend like this too.
There was an explanation for this and it seems to make sense sometimes if you disregard any possible side-effects (I haven't heard of any negatives). You can sometimes see this even in "Western" countries in a Chinese restaurant where they pack just a bit too may people around a round dinner table. All it takes is one left chopstick user to cause some clashes. My wife is a lefty. She plays badminton with her left, uses chopsticks with her right and writes with her right.
Almost all writing is easier for right handed people, how many languages write from right to left? I also use both hands, i write with my left and play badminton fotball whatever with my right side. I would probably write with my right hand if my teacher had got her way but my mother freaked out and told her that I will write with whatever hand that i prefer
actually......... chinese is written from top to down, then, from right to left. books are flipped from left to right
I have similar quirks - righty for racket games, lefty for cue games (pool, snooker etc). I was also told that I use a bow and arrow like a lefty (on the rare occasions it has come up). The only explanation I can proffer is that I was taught pool by a lefty, which I think is correct. A factoid: Ron Perlman (Hellboy) is natrually right handed, but was "encouraged" to use his left hand as a child and thus was able preserve Hellboy's "Right Hand of Doom" by using weapons with his left hand.
I think this has been discussed before. My friend told me that Chinese kids are encourage to write with their right, even when their left handed. The parents/teacher would punish them if they are caught writing with their left, so that's why Lin Dan writes with his right and plays with his left.
