Hi guys, there have been quite a number of people who have been asking about zelm badminton rackets. In order not to hijack oldhand's thread on free session in the place to play forum, i have decided to start this thread. From what i know, these rackets are made in china, but regarding where the brand is from, i have to check that out with the agent. Here are a few pictures and my reviews on Zelm powerplay9990. Review ----------------------------------------------------------------- Racket Weight: 3U Racket Balance: Head Heavy Racket Power: Excellent Racket Defense: Good Racket stability: Very good Frame quality: Excellent( while stringing, the racket head does not deflect as much) Overall rating: Excellent There are reviews here as well. http://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64092&page=11:) *please note that this review is subjective. this is what i feel about the racket. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Enjoy the pictures!
Isit very stiff? How was it if compare to other racket you have own? And that is one nice colour combo.
Yes, it is a stiff racket. Its written on the shaft. Comparing to my Ti10, Woven7, the racket's stiffness is around the same as those 2 rackets, or slightly stiffer.
Do zelm have a website where they sell their merchandise or do they only sell in stores? Did a quick search on google and dint find anything so im guessing even if they have a site the chances of them shipping internationally are rather slim?
I also tried zelm , and zelm sports , and zelm direct , and many other searches , it doesn't come up , not sure , i'll try and keep looking though
I like... Personally, they strike me as somewhat of a 'cross' between the (new) AT 700 & (white-yellow) Ti-10. I like... Seriously, though... I think they're good value for money. And they come with a couple of t-shirts thrown-in! I especially like the balance and the 'feel' of the ZELM Power Play 9990...
Sgbad, is this the racquet you were smashing with? If it is, this is quite an impressive piece What string tension (and string) are you using?
Hey oldhand. Yes, that was the racket i am using. I was using it with bg65 at 25lbs. *oldhand, you have a VERY fast wrist snap. Or should i call it, Lazy badminton. your "wrist smash" is really fast, and effective.
To survive, old people need to have some special weapon By the way, have you tried higher tensions on your racquet? I'd like to know how high a tension it can accommodate
The highest I ever went on the racket was 30lbs. On the shaft, it writes, 28-32lbs. according to the agent, 32lbs is a safe gauge, should be able to go higher than that.
Good value for money! Mind indicating the price for the various ZELM series to let us have a feel? And also where to get them.
I got my ZELM powerplay9990, directly from the agent at SGD$140. Came with string, grip, clothbag, and the 2 jerseys in the pictures.
All the items look very nice. They look like they are of the best quality. I like the shirts . But the real question is how do they play?
Will post a review up soon! Have two games today, should have sufficient playing time on it...since all my other rackets have no strings
