Sarawak Badminton Association (BA) president Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Husain said yesterday with such a complex, the association would have a first-class facility for training, gym work, tournaments as well as lodging for players and officials. He added the complex would also enable the association to hold major events such as the Malaysian Open, the Sarawak Open and other invitational events to attract top players. The cost of the sports complex is about RM4 million to RM5 million. “Some of our players have performed well and managed to reach the semi-finals and finals at the national age group meets. “They have huge potential which need to be further tapped,” he said.
When I read the title I thot new badminton complex is opening in Petaling Jaya. Anyway, good to have complex all around Malaysia so Malaysian can enjoy the benefit plus more youngsters for national squad-to-be.
Hope that Petaling Jaya can also build another big Badminton complex as well . Same here ... Thought it was for Petaling Jaya, but found it's for Petra Jaya. Hope that Petaling Jaya can also build another big Badminton complex as well. .
