WOW, this is one of the largest forums I've ever been on (and the first sports-related one). Well, hello. I'm thewildride. That's from my favorite song in the world, "Unbound (The Wild Ride)" by Avenged Sevenfold. I'm from the USA. I'm a teen girl. =) I use that smiley face a lot. I'm an absolute beginner in badminton. We played a few times in gym in junior high, and now that I'm in my first year of high school, I really want to try out for the badminton team. It's not terribly competitive at my school and I really like playing, so I hope to learn some tricks of the trade! So, hi!
Welcome thewildride. That is an interesting name. Perhaps we should all have a definite article in front of our nicknames: "The Oldhand"--sounds like a bow-legged gap-toothed cowboy sidekick. Or "The Fidget"-- which I'm sure would be a very popular dance move. Hope you have lots of fun here and learn a lot.
The Oldhand is hardly the pleased with this imagined description The Oldhand is the thinking that the image suits The Fidget the better.
Hey, well atleast you didn't call your self "Oldgaptoothedcowboysidekickhand" =.= Or moncky23 for that matter =.=
The Fidget genuflects to The Oldhand's omnipotence and wrath. Of course the cowboy sidekick I was comparing you to must have been Robert Redford in Butch Casssidy & the Sundance Kid. thewildride.....what will you do when that song is no longer your favourite? (I hear that happens) Thankfully Badminton Central nicknames, unlike tattoos, are easy to remove. (Ink in haste, repent at leisure )
Welcome.. ..to BCDF, thewildride!...*waves back* So, from which part of the U.S. are you from? To call this forum "one of the largest forums" is one thing. But it's quite interesting, isn't it, that this site is currently also hosted & headquartered in the U.S., where arguably badminton is not as mainstream as the other sports. Anyway, hope you'll visit us more often and learn a lot from this small but growing online community! Enjoy & have fun in here!
It is my sincerest wish to start a trend. I'm like The Rock. Luckily, I picked a rather generic song (the first lines are "Sometimes life is good/and things go as they should" [it gets better]). If it's no longer my favorite song, then I'll probably smack my forehead and move on with my life. =) Chicago, Chicago, that toddlin' town (do do do do). Or the suburbs, at least. But as people of my generation are apt to say, whatever.
