39 or 41 Fa Yuen Street (I cannot recalled exactly), nearby the Conjunction between Fa Yuen Street and Shan Dong Street, Mong Kok, Kowloon

    sporting shoe street

Fa Yuen Street is well known as sporting shoe street or sporting goods street in Hong Kong(near Mong Kok MTR station).
Rose is at the end on Fa Yuen Street and Emmy is at the head.
If you arrive in Mong Kok, you can ask anyone in Chinese.

    Re: sporting shoe street

Question by Fa Yuen Street I assume you mean garden street? Cantonese translates terribly into Romanised languages. Saying Fa Yu-en would probably get me weird looks from locals, however pronouncing it properly would make me look like less of an arse ;)

    Pecheur and all,

Fa Yuen Street is the offical name from Hong Kong Government. You can only find this name from the map.

If fact that the Chinese "Fa Yuen" really means Garden.:)

By MTR, you can arrive the Fa Yuen Street from the Mong Kok station - Bank Centre exit.

Yes, come out of the 'Bank Centre' exit of MongKok MTR station. Walk straight ahead and Fa Yuen St is the 3rd street perpendicular to the direction that you walk.

Look, the point went that away ->

I wanted to know what it meant so I could pronounce it properly not to say Garden in English :p

What does this Fa Yuen mean? If I know what it means, I can pronounce it properly :p I can think of a couple of other things Fa Yuen can mean, however I'm almost willing to bet it means Garden in this case :p

    OK. Here's a lesson on Cantonese>

    Fa (pronounced "far") means flower.

    Yuen means ground or yard.

Fa Yeun put together means garden. However, as a name of a street, it is Fa Yuen Guy and NOT Garden Street.

The street with the women's clothings is called Nui Yun Guy. It is the street before and parallel to Far Yuen Guy as you walk away from the subway station towards Far Yuen Guy.

    Happy hunting!

    :)

PS. It is the only street I know how to get to on the Kowloon side. I am an "Abadeen".

PPS. Don't worry about being an arse. They will love your a@# if you have $$$$$$!
