Wah tucked you attend training? Who's the coach? Don't sound as if you're being forced to play badminton la.. sounds like a perfect reason to play. =P A doctor once told me to stop badminton.. suffice to say I never visited him again.
Badminton good for health lah, fantastic destresser. I need it after 5 days of fighting with teachers. Today(1st day of the week) already got into an argument with a teacher. Only 4 more days to go..
Hahaha, the badminton race. Yeah, we're racist against the tennis race, the squash race, the ...
Dolphin... who has enough sleep when it's a Friday night?? Hehe...
So what time is the next session?

Hi,
Ya destresser... everytime i drive something happen, either saman lah or jsut yesterday got into an argument on the road until the fella walk off cause he saw a police behind me. Mizi, tolong... thanks JK1980 for fetching me.
Training? Dont make it sound so incredible lar.. i just attend to get the techniques right!
It helps alot. By example let say 3 months play made more progress than recreational for 3 years.. in comparison.
By the way, why stop badminton? Lets get the party attendance list started !

fu-yoh....so this thread has been so active huh.
I only got time to check now.
About the time and court bookings. As we can see, NVBA is getting quite crowded lately. And we had a few times whereby we had to change from 10AM to 11AM due to court not being available.
As such, for the next sessions, i think we'll have to set a deadline for putting names on the list.
All names in the list MUST be submitted BEFORE Friday 10:00 AM.
We'll take the headcount from there and book the number of courts appropriately.
That way we'll have time to update back the court number and the newcomers won't have problem finding us later on.
Agreed?

joanne, the training sessions (i believe the coach is Raymond Steven - the one who you see training the girls at court 1/2/3) have a thread that hasn't been updated for quite a while: http://www.badmintoncentral.com/foru...ad.php?t=64152
who has enough sleep on friday nights? maybe orang kampung, but then again maybe not. some crazy people even play on sunday midnights like in this thread http://www.badmintoncentral.com/foru...ad.php?t=58028 (tried to join them once but felt like a zombie for three whole days thereafter)
wu_kong101, i think the sportism applies to countries where they think badminton is a sissy game
having said that i know one or two friends who seem to be naturally good at any racquet sport they play. maybe you're one such person yourself.
tucked, transfer of road rage to the court eh?
everyone, book your spot early as advised by JK to avoid disappointment; have fun! see you all next month.

I find squash really boring because of the less bouncy ball.
Imagine the blood if i mistakenly hit JK1980 just trying to get the ball faster... i suppose alot of disappointment trying to get the sweet spot onthe squash racket...
I do not have a tennis arm, whatever but tennis seems interesting to play.
Ping pong still can.

Training girls? Or the one training the kids? Isn't that under Yogendran/Manroj or something like that?
Sunday midnight?? Hahaha, I'm already nearly always dozing off in class. Can't imagine the effect of a Sunday midnight session.
I've never tried tennis.. I get this horrible image of my arm dislocating and ripping off when I serve. Hehe. I used to train squash though, it's not too bad. I liked the part where I could play against myself, no need others. Haha. Standard in Malaysia quite low in terms of competitions/tournaments as compared to badminton.
Yeah, racket sports are nice, but... badminton is still the nicest lah.
tucked, the ball becomes bouncy after it's warmed up.. hit it against the wall for.. 50, 100 times, maybe? and it'll be really warm and bouncy. Blood.. badminton also can draw blood mah.

er... don't know who exactly is in charge of what in NVBA, but the one who was coaching whilst we were playing on sat morning is raymond. JK or tucked would have a clearer picture. i once wanted to join them for the training sessions but found saturday evenings way too taxing for my social schedule.
speaking of squash, isn't playing with a squash racquet is a good alternative to weights (at least within social badminton limits)? i haven't done that in ages - probably why any tom, dick and... jo are taking my smashes these days. not sure what cross-training benefit ping-pong might offer... reflexes, i suppose.

Yeah, squash may be a good alternative to weights.. depending on the racket? Like for me, I have a pretty good, light squash racket.. compared to the heavier ones that badminton players use. My friends used to say I cheated whenever I used my squash racket for training as compared to their rackets. hahaha. My loss, their gain. hehe
Does jo refer to me? Hahaha, I don't think so...?
