i was playing with a friend's racket that was g5 with a thin grip and i find i was able to use my finger power more efficiently since there is more open space for my hand when i hold the racket loosely and can generate force by a last second hard grab. my 4g grip with a supergrap overgrip is pretty thick.

is there any harm in removing the bottom base grip that came with the racket and then overgrip it again with the supergrap?

if not can someone suggest a good thin overgrip?

    thx

Yup, it is ok to remove the original grip. After you remove it, you can add any combination of grips as you please. Personally, if I remove the original grip, I will usually replace it with another replacement grip then finish it off with a layer of Yonex Supergrap.

I use Karakal Nano 60 overgrip, it's very thin, tacky though. It works well for overgriping of a G3 grip. It may vary for others though.

im gonna try some wilson super tack which is thin and pretty good at least.
hopefully that + the base one is thin enough. if that fails then i'll just remove it and then use my supergrap again
