Hi Brett,

I really liked my Arrowspeed 1500's as well. I originally bought 2 and used them for just over a year. As I had heard they were being discontinued in this country I decided to get another one. I then unfortunately managed to crack the head of one of the older ones, so I stopped using that one. Everything was fine for a few weeks...During a defence practice, I was returning smashes, when I hit through a shot and the shaft basically snapped right where the shaft joins the handle. Then about a week later, exactly the same thing happened to my new one!

I sent them back to Talbot and they sent me one of the IsoPower range as a replacement (I can't remember the model, but it was the black and grey one). The older one was too battle damaged to be replaced apparently! I didn't like the new one, so I sold it on. That left me with one badly cracked racket, hence why I have ended up using MP77's now.

The Autograph super is a pretty old racket now. I got them in October 1994 I think, and I used them for years, but I preferred the balance in the 1500Ti. The autograph super is a bit head light for my taste these days. Having said that, they have lasted well. If my MP77's are still perfectly usable in 8 years time I'll be impressed!

With regards to the 1500Ti's, I'm pretty sure that the breaks must have been caused by manufacturing defects, but I'm not sure why one would break within weeks of purchase, but the other one took well over a year of constant use to break. I think that only the 2 piece designs would be a risk from this kind of defect. I see from www.battledore.com that your Quadrapower is the same design, but the Quadrapower 251 and the Arrowspeed 600 are a 1 piece design. The old Autograph Super's are also a 1 piece design.

Oops....I didn't mean to worry you - I imagine most Talbot rackets are absolutely fine. My brother has used the 1500Ti's for a couple of years now and had no problems with them at all. As far as I know though, the Arrowspeed and Quadrapower ranges have been discontinued here in the UK now.

hey timo, is that you? Unfortunately I've strained my shoulder a little bit. I hope that I can go back on training next monday, but I'm not sure about that. Better give me (37641235) or sven (0179/4513410) a call, before you go there. Since Waschke, Gerdes & Schulz left for overseas, it's not really "crowded" at the wichern-schule.
By the way: interested in selling your cab20?
