Hi, my nickname is neu. I am glad that I've found this informative forum and big community for badminton players.

I will be starting my FIRST badminton session, yes, I am a newbie:D, this Friday with 3 other of my friends at The Challenger Sports Centre in Cheras, KL.

I just bought a Carlton C700 racket and Impact Super Grade shuttlecock from Jaya Jusco, Maluri. They cost me less than RM100. Just want to get something started first and hope I will do fine in this sport. My main objective is to get some form of exercise.

LONG time ago, I used to practice martial art and played squash but I quit and stopped all those sports due to my knee problem and some other "excuses":p

Any advice for badminton newbie with knee problem?:D

    Cheers
    ~neu

    hi neu,
    welcome to BC..................... :)

good to hear that you take-up badminton. but, as for your knee problem, it will be hard on you. as badminton does need good knee support.
be extra careful of your knee. meanwhile, enjoy the game.

    Welcome..

..to BCDF, neulwy (neu)!:)..Excellent, a "neu" member and already starting to play the sport. Did you by any chance catch the M'sian Open tournament, last week??..
Good objective there to play badminton to get some sort of exercise & have fun. Knees are definitely important parts of your body in playing baddy, as you'll be doing quite a bit of lunges and bending. Racket is not as important, as long as you get the other parts of the game in check (technique, footwork, stamina).
Anyway, hope you'll enjoy your first experience hitting those shuttles; keep visiting this small but growing baddy community & have fun surfing here!;)

welcome neulwy! take care of your knee when playing baddy, cos we tend to fall quite a number of times, just to reach the shuttle... :D
